Yep, that is the same people we are hoping to visit Saturday if Dad is doing good.

Oh I am so glad that Roy came! I bet it's fun for you to see his leads! emoticon

Firle, it seems like a real headache to get those books the way you want them.
quote:

Oy, that's bad news about the fillings. But if they are crumbling, you don't really have a choice. How long will it take?

The work will be done in two appts. a week apart.

Queeny, I hope you had a good day.
quote:

OH GEEZ! Are you going to have them all taken off? I had one that needed removed. But not till I broke it!

It's just four old fillings, but will be expensive, as dental work is these days.

Susa, I'm glad Roy came and you had a good time doing ancestry with him.

I did not buy any thumb drives, nobody had the smaller ones on sale. I was told at Staples that they may get lower closer to school starting.

I worked outside a lot today but it was pretty hot and I didn't enjoy it much.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Happy Wednesday!

Blog post is up, but I still have to complete the newsletter. That's okay.

I created yet another version for the Konrad cover and uploaded it yesterday. I can't even be angry about it anymore, I just want it to be done...

I have a ticket for the BarCamp in Kiel on Saturday. This is a strange event - basically a self-organized conference on anything of interest, leaning toward IT and software and stuff. I'm supposed to give a presentation since I'm new, so I will prepare a little thing about which programs to use to self-publish a book with as little money as possible. (And I'll take my Konrad copy as an example of the results.)

Since people vote on which presentations will be held, it's by no means sure I will get to speak. However, people from last year's BarCamp said that few people offered anything so every presentation was accepted. I'm assuming I will speak, and see what happens.

In my session with the Dutch buddy, we created a little constellation about my business, and the result is I'm quite happy to not have one... I just want to do EFT with people and get paid for that. I did a lot of tapping around family rules and such, so maybe that'll change, but if I can find a job that gives me that, I'd gladly take it. Wild. (On the other hand, I have much less trouble with owning a small publishing business.)

It rained a lot last night, but it cleared up nicely this morning. Now it's sunny.

I will struggle with Profit First some more today (taking note of my real expenses), and I offered to do a Live Video with some tapping in the group since I assume we're all struggling with this. And of course, this is positioning for me. Ahem.

Susa: Glad you had a wonderful afternoon with Roy. And it's good to hear your weather is nice. I hope your water will come back soon, and be good and clear.

Queeny: Glad you got your weeding done before it got too hot. Hope you had fun with the visit.

I think I might get lucky with the cover, because I have almost no emotions around it anymore. Just want it to be done...

Lucy: The problem with the cover is still that I don't really know what I am doing. I'm sure that once I do my tenth cover, it'll be simple and fun. But for now, I have to figure out what are important steps and which I can ignore, and I'm sure I'm still missing some things.

I'm glad you have two appointments for your fillings, but I'm sorry about the cost. Here, insurance covers part of the cost of dental work, and fortunately, most of what fillings cost. I usually only pay extra for better material.

Good luck with finding thumb drives!

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have a bit of work to do. And my boss seems to be in a bad mood, she was rather curt with me today. I'm trying to ignore that.

Have a wonderful day today! emoticon emoticon emoticon

GOOD WEDNESDAY, Aug. 9th MY FRIENDS!

Mom and Dad came and we went to the dump with all our lawn clippings already. I was outside trimming trees and dead heading roses when the arrived.
Other than that, I really have no idea what today will bring. I'm sure something will pop up, it always does.
Making taco's for [sign in to see URL] should be easy even there.
[sign in to see URL] do hope you all have as good a Wednesday as possible.

Lucy....yes, any kind of dental work is so expensive! It's almost crazy...
I can imagine you were [sign in to see URL] your air quality getting bad? Ours sure is...

Firle....that presentation sounds like a good idea. Let others know how crazy those programs can be!
Seems the you and your Dutch buddy got some good work in.
Very good idea to volunteer to do a tapping for the Profit First group!
Maybe your mood has transferred to your [sign in to see URL] has a way of doing that. Be positive, maybe boss lady will turn around.

Hello World! It is another beautiful day. The high is to be 79. I am going to Walmart either today or tomorrow. I should eat something and see what happens. That will determine if it is today.

Lucy, I am sorry you didn't find your thumb drives on sale. What do you use them for? I have heard that data on those sometimes goes away, but I don't know if that is really true. Ugh for working outside in the heat.

Hi Firle! Oh, I hope that Konrad cover is right this time. How frustrating. Wow! I can't imagine speaking at an event! It makes me feel like I know someone famous. I could sing much easier. I hope you do get to give your presentation. I hope that your session with your Dutch buddy provided something positive for you. I hope that your boss cheered up.

Hi Queeny! I hope you do get to have a relaxing day.

I don't know if that is true or not either, but I do know we have several that are well over 10 years old and still have stuff on them.
Hubby backs up his work on [sign in to see URL] one per year, going back 10-12 years.
And I still have one from 2008 that has a lot of our old house photos on it. emoticon

Hi Firle, I hope you are having a good day. I'm sorry your boss is in a bad mood but there is no reason for her to be rough on her people.

Queeny, yes, we are getting lots of smoke. Visibility is poor in all directions.

Susa, we keep a lot of pictures on thumb drives and, so far, have not lost anything. I actually prefer the small capacity thumbs because I like to put pictures of only one time frame or event or pet, instead of lots of things on one big one. Kind of like one for each folder.

I am doing some laundry and plant repotting today. Don't know what else I might get into before it gets too hot.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Happy Thursday!

I have good news: The Konrad cover finally worked out the way I wanted it to, with the new text. I now know which step was the important one, and won't leave it out again.

My boss didn't stay grumpy. It does take work not to take her moods personal, but it also pays off.

Evaluation of my business is done. It's out of whack because of lack of income. Well, I knew that, but now I can start taking action with clear goals. And I'm thinking of really forcing myself to write those non-fiction books (need to figure out how to make it easier), and doing online events, maybe one per quarter and starting with only one this year.

I researched a few things for my BarCamp presentation yesterday and want to create little cards to keep me focused for it. Fun thing: I found a German Print on Demand provider that has a very interesting offer by now (used to be expensive). I may try it out for some of my German books, because they can get me into the German distribution system for print books, meaning that book stores can actually order them.

I've been playing around with the "constellation" setup for my business, and I can sense some easing of tension, some opening up. And my ancestor told me his name is Karl. He was quite firm about that. emoticon

Queeny: It sounds like you had a good day.

Susa: I hope you got something to eat and that your gut calmed down. *hugs*

I never had trouble speaking in front of people. I had to do that a lot in university, and I always enjoyed it. I am a teacher at heart. emoticon I will love teaching people about creating books.

Lucy: I hope you also had a relaxing day. Puttering around with plants is always good.

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not sure what my boss will have for me today. I finished what she had yesterday. I may get back to translating the Konrad short story.

My MC Sidren is getting set up for dire trouble. I just sent a big thunderstorm after her. Mwahahahaha. (Not really. I don't like hurting my people. But it has to happen before she meets the dragon.)

Wishing you a great day! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

GOOD THURSDAY, Aug. 10th MY FRIENDS!
Today is Ladies day [sign in to see URL] shopping and the farmers market are the only two things I know for certain.
After [sign in to see URL] sure. Very smokey here, but a little cooler. Probably because the smoke is covering the sun! emoticon [sign in to see URL] hope you all have a great [sign in to see URL] ya once I get back.

Firle...So glad the Konrad cover finally worked!
Sounds like you have a few things clearer, I hope you can get the ball rolling now.
Love Karl! Sounds very sure of things! emoticon

Good Morning World! (I hope it is still morning when I get this written.) I did not go shopping yesterday, and I am not going today. I have too much to do and students come in 4 hours. Tomorrow, I take the car to the dealership for the oil change and tire rotation. Should that go quickly, I may shop afterward, or wait until Saturday. Ugh. I wish I had a replicator. I could just make what I want.

Hi Firle! Yay for that Konrad cover! And yay for learning the program. I am glad that your boss did not stay grumpy. What are your non-fiction books about? My gut is still iffy. It will eventually calm down.

Queeny, I hope you have a fun day!

HI DI HO AGAIN!
I'm baaaaack! Had a fun day, but the best part was the Farmers market, so many [sign in to see URL] wanted to get some fresh stuff to take to Mom and Dad's friends in the campground that we'll be visiting on Saturday. So we have watermelon, cantaloupe, sweetcorn, green peppers, tomatoes and broccoli!
Mom is home making some noodle and potato salads to take (we will have both big ice chests), and she mentioned that we should have some desserts (maybe cookies, hint, hint, hint) and so, I'm just finishing up with the chocolate chip/walnut cookies and have the peanut butter cookie dough chilling in the fridge. Needed a back break! emoticon

SUSA....what has you so frazzled? RB work? emoticon
I hope you can get to the store after you get your car done. But don't go getting stressed or your gut might act up. emoticon

Queeny, I am glad you had a good day, except for your cookie back. It does hurt to stand in one place and do things like make cookies. It is almost easier to move around more.

I had some Runboard work and I needed to vacuum in the music studio.

Tomorrow morning, I will be leaving fairly early for the car dealership.

Hi Firle, I hope your day was good. Your business planning sounds so complicated to me.

Queeny, you got a lot of good veggies at Farmer's Market. I am going to ours Saturday morning.

I hope you are able to get some relief from that smoke.

Hi Susa, I hope all was good with your students today.

I didn't do much today. Went out and watered a little, dead headed hydrangea bushes and roses. Actually, spent most of the day reading with the fans on, trying to keep cool.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Yay, it's Friday!

I went into overwhelm yesterday and didn't get much done (yes, I tapped a few times, and at least writing happened). I did the live-video for the Profit First group, and my internet cut out in the middle of it. It never does that.

So the video is low-quality, sometimes pixelly and possibly a flop. *sigh*

I'm working on my BarCamp presentation, and discovered the term "PowerPoint-Karaoke". I had to laugh, because it totally describes so many presentations. So I'm thinking I will create a PowerPoint, but will only have a single page or something with just those things on it that I want my audience to remember.

Weather is dark and grey, but the rain will hold off until tonight, most likely. But then it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I guess I'll be inside anyway, but I have to walk back and forth in the rain. The BarCamp is just a little further than where I work.

For Profit First, I'm supposed to take the money in my old business account and distribute it according to the percentages we created - into profit, owner's salary, expenses and taxes. The profit goes to my private checking account, and since that is quite a sum that has accumulated over the past years, I will transfer that to the account where I save money regularly. Once I have done that, I will have to repeat this exercise twice a month (I may go to once a month, to be honest, depending on how much money comes in). Maybe I'll use some of the money for my first real vacation in years.

And I need to get creative about income!

Queeny: Glad it's a little cooler. Hope the smoke goes away soon - you'll need some rain to clear the air!

Yeah, well. Sidren isn't happy right now. I threw her off the mountain... when she wakes up, she'll be even more unhappy.
 emoticon

Oooh, the farmers' market sounds great! Awesome loot. And I think your Saturday trip will be wonderful, too. Baking in this heat?! Oh, dear.

Susa: I hope all went well with your students. And I do wish we had replicators! No more cooking! And jeans that fit!

The non-fiction books are basically my blog posts with some added chapters. Money Mindset and Writers' Block. If I ever get them done... they are HARD. Dragons are so much easier to write.

Lucy: I was quite frazzled... the business is complicated. Maybe it shouldn't be. Maybe I'm just making it hard for myself. I just gave a colleage a card of mine, pointing her to my website. EFT works for allergies, and we were talking about them. She was quite excited... maybe this is what marketing could be.

I think reading with the fans on is a good idea when it is so hot! emoticon emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not sure what I'll get into today, except I'll listen to my friend Benita being live in the Profit First group, and setting up the PP for my presentation. I want to write - it's going to be a fun scene when Sidren finally gets to tell one of the "firebeasts" what she thinks of them.

I will also need to get groceries. I haven't been in the store since my "fight", and I can tell I'm a little wary. So it's time to conquer that fear and get what I need.

Have a wonderful day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good Morning World! I leave in 10 minutes for the dealership to get my car's oil changed and wheels rotated. I hope they don't take too long. I took an Immodium for safety. I hope I am not sorry I took it but it seems better than the alternative. It is to be cloudy, today, until 3 PM. Then it is to storm. It is so cloudy, I have a light on.

Hi Lucy! Reading most of the day sounds good to me! I finished my book yesterday. I was so close to done that I didn't want to take it to the car place because it wouldn't last long enough there, so I pushed on and finished it. I am taking a new book to the dealership.

Hi Firle! How frustrating about your video! Will you do it over? The distribution of money in Profit First sounds good. I can see why dragons would be much easier to write about then blog posts. I hope all goes well at the store.

GOOD FRIDAY, Aug. 11th MY FRIENDS!

This morning hubby and I have to take the RV over to the repair shop, they are replacing the drivers side window. They are duel pane and the seal is gone, so they fogged up bad, can't have the driver not be able to see! Oh, speaking of [sign in to see URL] Wednesday, the windshield glass people were here replacing the drivers side windshield half that got cracked in that storm on the way home from Corpus Christi last month. We are just dropping off the RV, we will pick it up when done. BUT FIRST, I need to mow the lawn before it gets to hot. Not really looking forward to that, my back is aching pretty bad, from [sign in to see URL] it must be done, since tomorrow we will be gone all day, and hopefully if I feel up to it, on Sunday we will be gone to a HUGE arts and crafts [sign in to see URL] Nampa Festival of the [sign in to see URL] try to hit this one every year.
[sign in to see URL] you can see, until around 11am or so, I will be very busy! LOL I hope you all have a wonderful Friday...

Susa...sometimes it IS easier to move around. Just standing in one spot, [sign in to see URL] with the neighbor over the mailbox, really kills me.
So in a few, I'm heading out to mow the [sign in to see URL] sure that is good physical therapy! emoticon
I hope you got your things [sign in to see URL] that today, getting the car done and shopping done all works out.

Hi Queeny! I hope all goes smoothly with the RV. I am glad your windshield glass got repaired. It is cool how they come to the house to do that. I had my Subaru done that way once. I hope til now your lawn is mowed and that you can relax before your big weekend.

My car is all done. I love how that place works! It is so much more comfortable and they came around offering cold drinks to everyone, plus there are snacks. I didn't eat or drink anything. I didn't want to rock the boat. It only took a little over an hour. Besides changing the oil and rotating the tires and doing a total check up, Betty had to have 2 filters replaced. She is all done until next August unless something goes wrong. Even my tires are still good. They washed her and they even did the dashboard, that was getting pretty dusty. Then I drove out into the rain. emoticon

I did not shop after I got done with the car. It was pouring down rain so hard I could almost not see and the forecast for the rest of the day is rain, so I came on home. I didn't want wet groceries. I would have needed a tarp over the cart. emoticon I can go tomorrow or Sunday.

Firle, I admire your ability to speak in front of an audience. Your videos will get better as you get more practice.

Queeny, that's kind of strange that you have needed both halves of the windshield replaced. I have a chip in my car windshield that has been there for years and never grows.

Susa, I'm glad you got your car maintenance taken care of and it didn't take very long. Wow! All that rain! I don't blame you for skipping the shopping trip.

I went to Costco and the grocery store today. Then watered the yard some.

GOOD SATURDAY, Aug. 12th MY FRIENDS!

Just here for a wee bit, today Roger, me, Mom and Dad are heading up to Cascade Lake to have a picnic with their friends who are campground hosts there. So, hope you all have a great [sign in to see URL] ya for coffee tomorrow...♥

Susa...WOW that place sounds like they treated Betty AND you very well! I like [sign in to see URL] she is good to go! And even if you did drive out into the rain, at least the grim was washed off her.
Hopefully today or tomorrow will be better shopping weather!

Lucy...

I did not write that very clearly, I meant the side window on the drivers side, by his elbow. It is a double pane, and the seal is cracked and the window has deteriorated badly. So the RV company ordered a new one and will install it this weekend.

Good Morning World! If all goes well with what I just ate, I am going to Walmart in about half an hour. For some reason, the weight of food hitting my stomach starts it all, but I had to eat something. My new camera never came. It was to be here August 9th, but it never even shipped. I called Amazon, yesterday, and they did a lot of research while I was on the phone, because the seller is Panasonic, my new camera's brand name. It turns out that not only did I buy that camera, but so did many people. They couldn't get the orders filled. However, it is still supposed to come. The new date is August 29th.

Hi Lucy! I am glad you got to the store. I wish we had a Costco, but I think you have to be a member, right? I never buy enough at member only stores to actually be a member.

Hi Queeny! I hope you have a fun time at Cascade Lake!

Good morning, all. I am headed out to Farmer's Market, don't know yet where else.

It happens to be cool this morning, something that hasn't happened in quite a while. emoticon

Hope you all have a good day.

It sounds like a beautiful day, there, Lucy!

I just got back from Walmart. The traffic was crazy out there, but all went well. I had a very nice check out lady who has 2 dogs and 6 cats. LOL

I also found out that my road to Walmart is going to close, on the day of the eclipse, for 75 days!!!! I am going to have to do a work around for a long time.

Susa, what are they doing to the road that requires it to close for 75 days? That's a long time. Is there an easy alternate route?

I went to Farmer's Market this morning, came home and cleaned the kitchen. We took our friend, Bill, for an early dinner at the casino. emoticon

We got quite a shock when Howard got in the back seat so Bill could sit in front while I drove to the casino. Howard went to buckle up and found the shoulder strap chewed through by a mouse. He switched sides and found the other side chewed half way through. emoticon

I poked around the yellow jacket hole under my tree that I've been trying to water and found that the hole was huge. I dumped 4 gallons of soil in and tamped it down with a stick and watered it in well. I wonder if that was a gopher hole that the yellow jackets took over. Anyway, I finally got my tree watered and the leaves have perked up quite a bit.

GOOD SUNDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Had a fun day up at Cascade lake with Mom and Dads friends. It was not quite as smoky up there. But you could barely see the mountains. It was cooler and there were no bugs, which is totally amazing. It was a long drive [sign in to see URL] 1/2 hours one way driving. I think it might have been a bit much for Mom and Dad, but they sure seemed to have fun.
Today now, hubby and I are going to the Nampa Festival of the arts. This thing is HUGE! I won't be able to walk when we are done, but it will be fun! LOL
Hope you all have a great [sign in to see URL] I will see you tomorrow!

SUSA....WOW! That is something about the camera. I guess it is a HIT, so many people wanted it. I hope there are no more hassles in it coming.
I was notified yesterday by AMAZON, that I should not use that special "Eclipse filter" I bought for my camera. Here is the email!

Hello,

We’re writing to provide you with important safety information about the eclipse products you purchased on Amazon (order #111-1425344-6210669 for Marumi 58mm ND 100000 Filter DHG Neutral Density Digital 100K 58 Made in Japan 16.5 Stop Solar).

To protect your eyes when viewing the sun or an eclipse, NASA and the American Astronomical Society (AAS) advise you to use solar eclipse glasses or other solar filters from recommended manufacturers. Viewing the sun or an eclipse using any other glasses or filters could result in loss of vision or permanent blindness.

Amazon has not received confirmation from the supplier of your order that they sourced the item from a recommended manufacturer. We recommend that you DO NOT use this product to view the sun or the eclipse.

Amazon is applying a balance for the purchase price to Your Account (please allow 7-10 days for this to appear on Your Account). There is no need for you to return the product. You can view your available balance and activity here:

SO, I'm not going to taking photos of the eclipse, just watching it.
[sign in to see URL]'m glad they bothered to tell me at all. I mean they did not have to. Even if my camera was ruined, I would have blamed the lens company, not Amazon.

[sign in to see URL] is amazing about your road to Walmart. emoticon
I wonder why the traffic was so bad?
But very glad you got to Walmart and back!

LUCY...hope you had a good trip to the Farmer's market.
Are you getting storms today? We have a chance here. I hope it's not till AFTER we hit the festival.
I bet Bill had a good time.
But that is wild about the mice chewing through the belts. I guess you are going to have to put traps in the car! emoticon
And that makes sense that the yellow jackets took over a gopher hole. If [sign in to see URL] was one heck of a busy nest! emoticon

Good Morning World! It is a gorgeous day and it is supposed to be that way for several more days. The high today is to be 76. My goal, today, is to go down to the mailboxes and wash out one of the parcel lockers. Two weeks in a row I have gotten sticky stuff on my package. The first time, I thought the sticky came from Amazon, but when I got a case of dog biscuits covered with goo, I looked in the locker and its walls and ceiling have goo all over it. What a mess! I fear that the goo from locker 3 is coming from the locker above it. It looked like it has run down from above. I wonder if there is a package up there that never got picked up. It looks like clear syrup and water on a rag takes it right off, but it is awful trying to get a package home in the car without getting the car messed up.

Hi Lucy! The road closed sign is on either side of a culvert, so they me replacing the culvert. It does flood right in that area. Perhaps they are putting in larger pipe. That is wild about your seat belts! I know they can be replaced, with a lot of bother and cost, but then it could happen again! How frustrating. I hope you solved the yellow jacket issue, but I am not sure. I don't know how good they are at rebuilding.

Queeny, I am glad that all went well, yesterday. Your parents will be resting up today. I hope you have a wonderful time at the Nampa Festival! It will be a good tired for you. You are getting the same notices I got from Amazon. I had to throw away may glasses and I need to get Garett, Kate, Brad and Sheree to throw away theirs. I did not get a notice on their glasses, only mine, but their seller is gone and I can't even find him with Google and he is not on the approved list from Nasa. I bought approved glasses for us all yesterday.

Queeny, I'm glad you all had a good time Saturday at the campground and I hope it doesn't rain on you today on your outing.

Susa, it doesn't seem that it should take 75 days to replace a culvert but, whatever. emoticon

We are having a beautifully cool day, 68° right now and supposed high of 76°. I am doing my usual watering and have to get Annie's sweet potato treats into the dehydrator.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Just popping in for a bit today. I worked yesterday. So was extremely tired today. I got up at the usual 4 am to let the doggies out. I thought I could go back to sleep but couldn't. I got groceries about 7 am, made breakfast for Luke and I and then fell asleep. I just woke up. I feel tired yet I may nap again later emoticon
Work is ok. I have asked for some time off on 2 different occasions and I was denied both dates. emoticon Our friends want to travel to MN the 21st of October. I requested it off but was told that 2 others have that week. So then I thought the last week of December and nope, there are 2 others taking that week too! I am not happy! I am just really tired and am unable to take time off because only 2 can go in a week and all the weeks are taken for the rest of the year. I have only these 2 days next week and that is all for the whole year. I have the time accumulated. They have let the last 3 new employees take time off before their 6 months. NJH has a policy that they are to be on probation for 6 months. I guess I am not a favorite employee. I don't kiss enough butt... can you tell that I am upset? emoticon emoticon I think hubby will still go to MN. I am depressed, tired. emoticon Just too hard on an old lady not able to have time to rest. Just not fair. Sorry for complaining. I needed to vent I guess.

Lucy, it sounds like you are having a perfect weather day, just like here.

Oh, Wow Mary! That is terrible that you cannot take a few days off for the rest of the year! What will they do if you call in sick? This is all making you sick. It is too bad that you have to work full time at all. I am glad that you stopped in. You deserved to go back to sleep after your shopping trip this morning.
