Queeny, that is funny about your mom checking the prices of the houses. I am glad you had a fun day! Ack about you getting snow! Be sure to take a picture of it for us. I don't know why Runboard sites would be slow. I am not having that happen . . . yet.

I have to weight in on puzzles. I always do the edges first and then whatever seems easiest to get out of the way.

Mary already has snow and now Queeny is talking about getting some. Please, you guys, do not send any my way.

Lucy? Your grandson has a sister? How old is she?

Yes, Aedan's mother had a little girl from a previous marriage when she met my son. I consider her my granddaughter but since she is not a little kid I don't have to work as hard at helping her to remember me living 800 miles from them. Hailey is now 18 and a beautiful, intelligent and very nice young lady. She is presently in community college taking all the prerequisites she needs to get into a nursing program. She works two nights a week in a nursing home as a nurses assistant.

I've already been out and am back home again from getting a flu shot.

Last week, when I had my physical, they didn't have any of the high dose flu shots (for those over age 65), and said that some would be arriving this week. So, a few days ago, they called me and I made an appointment for the flu shot. So, I made an appointment for today at 8:00 am, so that I would be the first appointment, and I wouldn't have to possibly wait.

I left home and walked there about 7:50 am, got there about 7:55 am, got taken very quickly, walked back home and was home by about 8:03 am! Hubby said, "Wow, you're back already?"

I didn't even take a shower before I went. (I had taken one last night before I went to bed, though.) So, now I'm going to take a shower, eat breakfast, and get into my exercise clothes. My strength class starts at 10:15 pm. I might go a little early and work on the puzzle. emoticon

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Yay, it's Friday.

You probably wondered where I was this morning. Well, I called in sick. Exhausted, headachy and a bad night... Boss was nice about it.

I took it easy all day. Made real food for lunch. Took a nap already, and there may be a second one soon. The headache is mostly gone now.

I had an intense session with my Florida buddy yesterday evening. And I broke down and cried. I may take a break from my businesses for a while. I have some blog ideas and will keep that going until my December blog break. But I may not push for clients or creating webinars, and I will probably not do NaNo, either.

I've been pushing myself for years. Never good enough. Never made enough money, never wrote enough, never sold enough books (haven't sold one for seven weeks, now), never found a new partner. And I always worried about the "shoulds". This has to stop. Instead of worrying, I want to do one little thing per day and then let it be. Good enough. And then look for the fun...

This is a huge shift for me. The pattern of worry is about 50 years old... So I have to practice a new way. Can you help me with that?

Autumn: Hey, you had some German! And I can start sticking some German into my posts, if you all won't mind. emoticon

Your cat looks lovely, and that is an amazing age.

Queeny: Oh, it sounds like you had a lovely day out! Love that your mom checks the prices ... I love looking at bank windows and the houses they offer.

I *almost* got home dry. I took the bus downtown, and didn't have to pay the fare because their cash register was broken! Got my package, got my fountain pain fixed (although that was a bit difficult), and splurged on a bus ride home. And when I got off that bus - it rained. emoticon

The ride home was awesome. There was a handicapped man with a huge electric wheelchair who wanted to ride - and everyone cooperated to make it possible. Our busses have a metal plate that can be lifted from the floor and flipped (it has hinges on one side) so that it forms a ramp. Everyone riding was in good cheer, and there was much joking and quipping around. I sat next to a young mom with her kid, and even we had a nice little chat - turns out there's a fair near where I live, and they were going there, as a surprise for the kid. I loved every moment of it. Humanity at its best.

Eeek! Hope you won't get snow just yet!

OhioSue: My family works puzzles like you do: Frame first, then filling in the rest. To me, that seems very logical. I love that you enjoy working on that puzzle so much.

Wow, that flu shot went fast! I looked around a little on the google map you posted the other day, and it does look like a very nice neighborhood.

Have fun with that puzzle! emoticon

Susa: Yay for sleeping in! I love it when I can.

Lucy: It's very nice of you to consider Hailey your granddaughter. I'm happy to hear she's doing well. Of course, it's much more fun to spoil a little kid. *winks*

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not doing much today. Did a grocery run before breakfast. I might go for a walk, but the sky looks dark now.

Hugs for everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hello World! Today is to be cloudy and 68. I have 3 students. I finished my book, yesterday. I am hoping that the next one arrives in the mail today. My cousin sent me these books, but I got to looking over the 3 that are paperback a week ago and the print is too small for me to read, so I went to a used book place and got all 3 in hardback for under $12. One of them arrived yesterday, but it was not the next one in line to read. It is OK. I have other things to do around here.

Lucy, Hailey sounds like a nice girl. I am glad you consider her your granddaughter.

Sue, that is crazy about how fast you went and got your flu shot and then got home! I get mine at a pharmacy and they always want me to hang around for 15 or 20 minutes after the shot.

Firle, I can hug you. emoticon I think the route of letting go is a wise one. You need a break. When the time is right, you can come back to it, but the stress is no good for you. It sounds right that you called in sick, today. No matter what, you are a success to me. I am glad that you did not get too wet, yesterday. It does sound like you had a very nice bus ride.

Susa, come to think of it, when I was getting the flu shot when I was still working at Ohio State University, I got the flu shot on campus, they always had us stay a little while after getting the shot, too, and gave us some nice little snacks and drinks.

I think it is a good idea to wait around after the shot, just in case there is a reaction of some kind. I wonder why my doctor office doesn't do that. I think my doctor office should do that, too. Maybe, if I think of it next year, I will ask. emoticon (I doubt that I will remember to ask next year, though.)

GOOD FRIDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!
FRIDAY the [sign in to see URL] lucky day for me.

[sign in to see URL] it rain last [sign in to see URL] in colder weather. Temps are to drop today, with snow in the mountains for certain, possibly flurries here in the valley.
Woke up with a sinus headache, the changing weather is to blame. Took a long hot bath this morning and that moist air really helped the sinus'. Won't be doing much today, to yucky to be outside. Of course it's Fiesta [sign in to see URL] there is a good thing! LMAO
Hope you all have a fantastic [sign in to see URL] the most of it.

SUSA...Oh if we get snow I will show you! I hope it only happens in the mountains. Hubby and I need to get outside tomorrow and really 'winterize' the plants, all the hoses need drained and hung up and our stuff in the garage need gas additive and/or moved to the back.
BUT I AM SO [sign in to see URL]'ve not had Nuthatches all Summer. But I got that cheap feeder that is like open mesh and Walmart now carries a mixture of Sunflower seed (no shells) and peanut bits, so I filled it with that and I HAVE a pair of Nuthatches (assups) and I LOVE that wee camera! emoticon
So glad you got to finish your book yesterday. I love your "Snoopy reading" avatar. emoticon

LUCY....

LMAO [sign in to see URL], I'll try. But lately Mother Nature is laughing at me! emoticon
Your "older" granddaughter sounds like a wonderful young lady... emoticon

SUE...Glad you got your Flu shot. Hubby and I had ours the beginning of Sept. We get ours in BiMart at their pharmacy. They don't make anyone stay around [sign in to see URL] even when we got the big pneumonia shot.
Your doc office sounds like ours. I try to get the very first appointment in the morning, so they are not behind already!
BUT DANG! That was FAST! emoticon
Have fun on the [sign in to see URL] and in class. emoticon

FIRLE...I am glad you had such an intense session with your Florida buddy. Not that it made you cry, but that it made you look at yourself for the first time. REALLY look at [sign in to see URL] needed to see that YOU are truly good enough, and actually are better than good enough. You work to [sign in to see URL] need to come more naturally. And they can't come naturally to you, if you are forcing things to happen.
***HUGS*** emoticon

LMAO Well [sign in to see URL] is a bit of Karma for ya. emoticon
Love it when humanity shows it's good side. emoticon

Hi Queeny! Sinus headaches are very painful. I am glad that the moist air helped. Yum for Fiesta Friday! That is wonderful that you got a Nuthatch! They are clingers and that is one reason I use mesh feeders. They attract the clingers. That is interesting that Walmart has the mixture of peanuts and sunflower seeds with no hulls. I am happy that you found that.

I got to the strength class a little early and put a few pieces into the puzzle. My friend, Barbara, is taking a new class which is before the strength class. It is called Cardio Drumming. I was so engrossed in the puzzle that I didn't realize that it was already 10:15 am, and time for strength class. Barbara came and got me from the library room. emoticon

After strength class, I stayed and worked on the puzzle probably a good 45 minutes more.

A little while ago, I went outside and raked more leaves. It is a beautiful fall day here in Central Ohio, sunny and about 72 degrees, perfect weather for raking leaves. emoticon

Only 2 students came. The mother was very annoyed. The 3 youngest, out of the 4 kids, had no school today because of teacher's something or other. The two boys spent the night at their grandmother's. The little guy is starting on mini piano lessons so he had an assignment, too, this week. He is so cute. Anyway, my students' mother called her mother and told her that the boys needed to be home in time for their piano lesson. The grandma told her she was not bringing them. So, the mother told her she had to get them at least to here on time because she pays for these lessons whether they come or not. (My house is closer to come.) She said if they were not doing something really special then they needed to be here. The grandmother told her she would think up something for them to do, but she wasn't bringing them home tonight.

GOOD SATURDAY, Oct. 14th MY FRIENDS!

Well it's 31 degrees and the windchill (yes I said that word) is 26! [sign in to see URL] least we did not get any snow here. The mountains are covered. Hubby and I want to work a LOT today getting all the trees and bushes and plants trimmed and cut back, ready for Winter. We also have to ready the garage. Nothing can be on the left side, as the gunk that melts off the car after driving in the the snow and slush will fall off and melt and it always runs towards the left. We need to move the Rubbermaid tool cabinet under the back patio awning and drain all our [sign in to see URL] last but not least we need to make at least one dump run, possibly two.
Needless to say, you won't be seeing me after this morning's coffee.
I do hope all of you will have a wonderful Saturday!

SUE... emoticon Well, I guess we both are just 'keepin', keeping on! emoticon

SUSA....Geez! Don't mess with that Grandmother! emoticon
How young is the wee one?
You are up and moving this morning! It was a shock when I scrolled down and saw your name last and not Firles! emoticon I think it is so funny how Lily and Piper try to move the groomer.

Hi all.
Popping in for a bit. My only day off and then back at it all week emoticon
I was up at 3am. I was so tired after work yesterday. I did go to see mom though. I brought her a bouquet of flowers which she totally went nuts over. She said everyone is going to ask her who gave them to her and she said that her reply will be, "well my secret admirer!". LOL
I got home and made a bite to eat and was in bed at 6:30pm. I don't remember hitting the pillow! Ha
I got my litter boxes cleaned, bed stripped, one load of wash going. I made a BLT sandwich for breakfast with my coffee. emoticon emoticon
Hubby is finally home today. He has been working nonstop. He is planning on changing the oil on the trucks, cutting up the branches that fell from the snow last week. We need to bring our firewood up closer to the house for the winter, bring some in the house. We will take down the swamp cooler and store it til next year. I am glad I got some of the inside stuff done before I start helping hubby! We need to winterize the little camper trailer. I am hoping that the lines didn't freeze from the other night!
Wellm I am out of here for now. As you can see I have a lot of stuff to do today! Yuck!
Have a good day! emoticon

Hi Everyone! Today is an extremely windy day. I am hoping we keep electric. It is warm this morning and then will turn cold. It is in the 70's this morning and will be in the 50's tomorrow. I have an orange boy who wants held right now. He may mess up my typing.

Hi Mary! It is very sweet that you bought your mother flowers. Now is when she needs them. I always think it is sad that people don't buy their parents flowers while they are living. I always bought them for my mom. In later years I bought her helium balloons. She loved those! You do have a busy day, today. I am glad you got to go to bed early last night.

GOOD SUNDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

Whew! We trimmed bushes and trees and plants yesterday, until we had a full pickup trucks worth! And made a dump/recycle run. Then arranged the garage, so that this coming Winters melting snow/slush from the car in the warmer garage does not ruin anything sitting on the [sign in to see URL] all tends to run to the left side.
Today hubby is doing office work, but we will then clean the house, as Mom and Dad are bringing pizza and wings over here for dinner and then we are watching that new Goldie Hawn movie, "Snatched"....they have been wanting to see that.
[sign in to see URL] is my day. I do wish you all a lovely Sunday wherever you are.

SUSA....

We got 2 of 9 things done! LMAO Of course the one, trimming all the plants and making a dump run was the biggest, and it took 5 hours to do.
6 years [sign in to see URL] wonderful! Does he have a hard time staying focused?

Thank [sign in to see URL], that one is not one of my shots. (A lot are mine)
I don't have good ones here either. Most here turn yellow, then brown and fall! emoticon Not many brilliant reds...
Hope you have a very good day...

Mary...OH dear! Only one day off, that is very tiring indeed. I LOVE that you brought your Mama [sign in to see URL] REALLY love what your Mother is going to say to those who ask where she got them from! emoticon
How much snow did you all get?
Hope the little trailer survived till you get it done. We took our RV in a couple weeks [sign in to see URL] thing too, been below freezing every morning this last week.

Hi Queeny! I am glad you got all of that work done. I know that it feels good. Pizza and wings sound delicious! I have been thinking about getting a pizza, but I think I will wait a week. I want my gut well healed first. The little guy, who is six, doesn't actually take a lesson yet. We are planning to start him in January. I have been putting him off because he has had many physical setbacks in his young life and he doesn't seem ready. I do think he is wanting to take lessons. That is showing readiness. He runs up to the piano and sits down after his brother and sisters have finished, so I started to just do mini things with him. He is supposed to show me all the groups of two black notes the next time he comes. After that I will have him show me the groups of three black notes, and then one note name at a time. When he actually starts lessons he will be a bit ahead.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

It does feel good SUSA to get the worst things done. And that trimming is the worst because we needed to have good weather to get to the dump. The other things can be done in crappy weather. emoticon
That little guy seems like he is adorable! emoticon

HEY SUSA...I mentioned that I was having issues with the site slowing down, pausing. So out of necessity, I am here using Microsoft Edge and I HAVE NO issues. Other than I don't like EDGE! But it's very smooth and fast. [sign in to see URL]'s something to do with Firefox and my computer and here. emoticon

Re:

It has to do with Firefox. I wonder if it is with everyone that uses Firefox, or just with Idaho. There could be a pause in a hop along the way to Runboard. Different parts of the country get to Runboard by different routes, but I am not sure whether that has anything to do with the specific browser. Do you know how to do a traceroute? Or you could do an online ping, to see if there is a pause. [url=[sign in to see URL] is a good place to do a ping. Use this, [sign in to see URL] , as the website name. I really don't know if that will give you any clues.

Here is how to do a traceroute that will give you an easy to read and copy result. The result will be on your desktop.

Type Command in the Search
Choose Command Prompt

Type
tracert [sign in to see URL]>desktop/[sign in to see URL]

Click enter?

I almost always use Firefox, and I am not having any problems.

Re:

Queeny, I asked Lesa if perhaps your issue was caused by an add-on and she said that is most likely the cause.

Hello ladies! I wanted to let you know that I am still alive and kicking. I have kept up on my reading here so pretty much know what you all are up to. I did a lot of work in my potting shed today and got an area ready for moving some outside containers inside. emoticon
