GOOD TUESDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

I decided not to do the laundry [sign in to see URL] was lazy! LOL
So I have the first load going [sign in to see URL] looks really pretty out, but it is only 25 degrees. Only going up to a high of 38 degrees. But tonight and tomorrow there is an "inversion" setting up. I really dislike those. It's like a heavy fog/smog thing that settles in and it's very thick and dense and cold! Just nasty .....and they get those here all Winter!
[sign in to see URL] is cold, but gorgeous! The squirrels and birds are at my feeders and it's so busy, I bet they have to take a number to eat! LOL
Hope you all have a wonderful day, and enjoy the small things, for they are what make up the bulk of our lives.

SUSA....good lordy! That guy actually shot his breakfast IN the park! What a moron! I am very glad he is gone!
quote:

The woods near my house, but not my back yard woods, is not legal to hunt in because it is trailer park land and is where I hear the gunshots.

I would have to turn those idjits in!
I did get everything needed and Gingers meds. They have raised the price, due to "demand" they said! WHAT THE HECK?? So, people are using more Gabapentin, so they raise the price!
I will have to look at the price my insurance is [sign in to see URL] check the price of what Mom and Dad are paying, to see if OURS all went up!
Gingers was $30 for 30 pills (1 month)...now it's $35!
It's good that you could be flexible on the grandkids lessons. I would imagine that this time of year there are a lot of people working late.
quote:

They said on the news last night that we should drop 2-3 degrees per hour.

Brrrrrrrr! Yeah, we are not all that warm either!
I hope you do not get much [sign in to see URL] ONE HERE, is even saying that word! I think everyone is being very hush, [sign in to see URL] fear of starting the avalanche of snow like last year!
I don't know how people do the prescriptions either! I hated hubby being in the Navy for 23 [sign in to see URL] I have felt so blessed to have kept his military insurance!

Sue, I bet that concert was wonderful to see. It would be awesome if Josie got a solo!

Lucy....It's so nice what all you do for Bill. You made him family....
I'm glad he's going to have a second cataract surgery. Get those done and out of the way.
That is totally funny about Blacky and your hand warmer! emoticon
I have a heating pad near the head of my bed and one in my recliner. If I have them on and [sign in to see URL] cat or another WILL take my place. Old [sign in to see URL] she was so sick and I thought she was not long for the world. I was picking her up and laying her on the head of my bed/mattress and turning the heating pad ON. [sign in to see URL] comes up there at night and expects me to turn it on! And I do.... emoticon

Firle...So glad the dental work went fine. It's awful to bite the side of your gum by trying to eat with a numb [sign in to see URL]'ve done that!
Also very happy that you had a beautiful day to walk home and get a couple errands done in.
Nice about your new monitor being so much clearer!
This new laptop I just got has "hi-def" monitor. I told Susa the first time I came to the Sunroom after getting it, that WOW! Her place looked fabulous.
Nice that you and your buddy helped each other.
Don't know if we will hold you accountable, but we can give you a hard time! emoticon
Good luck with that "to do" list..

Yes they do.. emoticon

That is terrible about your son's house!!!! I sure hope that it stays safe. I would be glued to the news, too. I am sending positive thoughts and prayers.

Hi Queeny! I had Lucy's post just sitting there waiting to post it when you posted. Ugh for that inversion!!! I did my laundry yesterday. It does no good to turn anyone in to police in my neck of the woods. We are too far away from the sheriff's department for our county. They notified us once, that if it is not a felony, don't bother calling. They are not coming. Now across the road, where it is legal to hunt, the police department is 5 minutes away. That is awful about the Gabapentin price for Ginger! It said on the news that our weather is coming down from Canada. I sure hope you don't get all the snow you got last winter. That was crazy. If I remember correctly, you had 2 bad winters in a row.

Oh, my.

Lucy, when I heard about the fire on the news this morning, I was wondering about your son, but I didn't have time to post because I was on the way out to aerobics line dancing.

I will keep your son and his family in my thoughts and prayers, along with all of the others in danger of the fire.

LUCY...Oh dear! emoticon I was reading about that fire cause I have a girlfriend who lives there. They have not had to [sign in to see URL]. I do hope your son's house will be spared!
We still have one of those "outside" mats. We had it inside a doggy Igloo house with food and even a bowl water heater (still have)...for when Miss Kitty was bringing her baby boys here. Before the skunk decided for us, that we were going to bring them in.

Hi Autumn! Oh, I had to laugh at Siri! Naughty, naughty! I decorated a little bit this year, but not a lot. I mostly only decorated the music studio because the piano students are all playing Christmas Carols. I did not post Christmas pictures in the Photo Album this year. While I was re-doing Photobucket pictures I saw that the past two years I posted pictures of the same decorations, so I skipped it this year. I only send out a few Christmas cards and I need to get on that. Hopefully, tomorrow. Did you decorate?

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Happy Wednesday!

I'm tired, and grateful I didn't have to blog this morning. Even so, I'll put up a picture this afternoon, declaring the "December Break". I had planned to do it this morning, but didn't have the energy to dig through my pics.

I think this is because I'm coming off the stress of November, and starting to relax.

Tonight's visit to the stable has been cancelled. She wrenched her back and her horse is lame (could be dangerous...), so there's no point in going there and freezing when we can't do anything together anyway. We still plan to meet at a later time.

Today, I'll go get some groceries after work. And I may take my advent calendar to the shop and tell them the chocolate is utterly inedible. It tastes of mineral oil and mold. I wrote a one-star review on Amazon, and I will send email to the producer. I just found out who they are.

Susa: I hope your insurance will turn out okay and that you will save money. It's insane they do not cover inhalers.

Yes! We deserve to wear nice underwear! I buy mine at Aldi's. Ahem. And I'm planning to replace most of my old pairs in the near future.

We have 7 hours and 31 minutes of daylight today. Sunrise was at 8:24 am and sunset will be at 3:56 pm.

I don't know yet exactly when I'll do the workshop. I'm leaning towards end of January, simply because that's when willpower runs out on New Year resolutions. And that's when people will need support. Yesterday, I made the list of emails to compose (22), and a list of images I need to create (at least four).

Lucy: I've forgotten my backpack once before, in a similar situation - taking something else with me. It usually happens when I'm mentally exhausted. I'm glad I only have six more days of work this year, not counting today.

I'm holding your son and his family in my thoughts. I hope they'll stay safe and that their house is safe, as well. emoticon emoticon

Queeny: Sorry they raised the price on Ginger's meds. I believe that anything health-related should not be opened up to free markets. It's too important...

Glad you're having a gorgeous day. emoticon

Autumn: I do some Christmas cards, and I need to sit down next weekend and write them all up. And then take them to the post shop, because I don't have the stamps to send them to America.

I have a few decorations. We Germans do Advent wreaths, and I have something that serves the purpose in my living room, as well as an Advent candle for my kitchen table, where I eat my meals. I won't get a tree, since I'll celebrate Christmas at my sister's place. And we Germans don't put up Christmas trees early.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm almost done with the room statistics. I may finish them before I stop working for this year. Still have plenty of vacation days (we get 30 days of paid vacation every year), so I'll take three weeks off around Christmas. Last day of work will be the 15th. Can't wait!

Today, it's cloudy and windy but dry so far. Still warm - but we're supposed to get some snow on Saturday. It won't stick, but it'll be nice.

Have a lovely day, everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

GOOD WEDNESDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

****[sign in to see URL] and prayers going out to those effected by the fires in California***

Would you believe it is 19 degrees F. outside right now? YEP! And we are going all the way up to 36 degrees today. Colder tomorrow and Friday and I need to go out both days.
But not [sign in to see URL] is ...."Cat Litter day!" Aren't you excited? LMAO Well, need to get the litter boxes cleaned as tomorrow the garbage folks come. My dear sweet neighbor was not going to put up her outside lights this [sign in to see URL] to last year being so horrible and having to have folks shovel snow [sign in to see URL] did not want to worry about the lights if that happens again. [sign in to see URL] saw her son putting them up yesterday, and now this morning I see her in the big picture window, decorating her tree... It's adorable, she was the only one without lights on our block. Not any more! 🎄
ANYWHO,.....I do hope you all have a truly enlightening day!

Autumn....thank you sweety! I now have photos of ALL our decorations I have to get up!
I actually don't do the decorating. My Husband loves it and he is the decorator. I swear interior design runs in his family. Both his Sisters have actually had their own businesses as interior decorators. [sign in to see URL] does it all! I just do the cleaning in between each section!
Those meat pies are a throwback to hubby's [sign in to see URL] Mama used to make those back in Canada.

Firle....Oh it's too bad the trip to the stable has been canceled. But you both are [sign in to see URL] sense going out in the cold if you all don't have to.
Bummer about the chocolate in the Advent calendar. I've always found those to be discusting! I think maybe they figure only kids are eating it! LOL

Oh won't that be nice?? I bet you are about ready!
Good luck getting your shopping done.

Nanny..... emoticon Hang in there sweetpea. Stay warm...

Hello All! I see that Runboard is not working correctly this morning. It is the same thing that happened a few days ago, when it went down completely. It acted weirdly, yesterday. I have reported it to Lesa. If is goes down and stays down, I will contact Thor.

Today is trash day. I already changed the dog box this morning and sucked cat hair out of the corners in the house and put the heating pad out for the cats. I also must give my apologies to Hobbes. A week ago I accused him of taking my super glue bottle. I hunted all over the floor and never found it, hoping that Piper had not eaten it. I found it. I had put it on the stove behind my Cat Lax medicine. Our high, today, is 38. We are to have snow later this week. I heard on the radio that north of me is to get 8 inches. I don't think I will get that much.

I hope you all have a good day.

Hi Autumn! Yes. There is a limit of 100 smilies. The spaces are there so you can put new ones in them before you move up the page to remove others.

Hi Firle! I am glad that you did not have to blog this morning. I think that blogging would be a real drag. I am sorry you could not go to the stable, today. It is good you still have that in your future. I hope that she and the horse will be OK. Yuck about that chocolate! They should take that back. I am considering throwing all of my old undies out. They are still nice and clean. It is just that the waist bands are so ratty. I feel bad tossing something that is wearable and no one sees. Your days are very short. I feel like ours are short, but we have 9 hours and 26 minutes of it today. The timing of your workshop sounds good! That is wonderful that you get 30 vacation days a year.

Nanny, I am so sorry that you have a heavy cold. You take good care of yourself. Eat chicken soup and rest.

Hi Queeny! I am glad that your neighbor got to have holiday lights! I am sure she feels cheered by that. I have been thinking about putting candle lights in the window, but I am almost certain that Hobbes would remove them. Enjoy your cat litter boxes!!! LOL

Lucy? Is your son's house still standing? That fire is horrible.

HI SUSA...I have only been here since I left this morning to do chores. It "seems" better but the pages still turn in 8 -10 seconds. Which I guess is not bad, actually. emoticon What ever is causing it, I hope Thor can get it fixed...
I got my cat boxes changed and even got my bath [sign in to see URL] have to go have my toe shots tomorrow morning. Then Friday, I'll be going with Mom shopping.
I used to have those candle lights for my windows. I never put any in the windows the cats favored! Or they would be on the floor by morning! emoticon That is so funny that you had to apologize to Hobbes! emoticon
Our temp highs are about the [sign in to see URL] we are not expecting [sign in to see URL] Thursday and Friday we are to have an inversion and now they are calling for "freezing fog" in the mornings. Ugh! emoticon

Right at this moment, things are going well on Runboard. I hope that Thor has gotten the issue sorted out, but time will tell. Yay for clean cat (and dog) boxes! My trash is sitting at the end of my driveway. I think I am not going to try the window sill lights. I am sure they would not last long. Freezing fog sounds awful!

Now it is my turn to get clean. I am on my way to the shower.

Sue, where's that picture?

I had an appt. in Eugene today so was gone all day.

My son's house is still standing but they are still not allowed back into the neighborhood due to high winds tonight.

Howard had the auto parts store order a radiator for my car because it was leaking. He picked it up yesterday but found that it was the wrong one when he tried to install it in the car. He called and they admitted their mistake and said they would have the right one for him this morning. So he left for town about when I left for Eugene. When I got home he said it is mostly done, just needs filling with water and coolant. We were lucky to have enough left overs for dinner tonight.

I am super tired tonight. Will just check on that fire again and head for bed.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my son and his family.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Happy Thursday!

This morning, I added a picture to my Writers' Dream Coach blog, declaring the blog break in December. I honestly think that people are fed up with being marketed to during this season. I don't want to add yet another voice.

Also, it's good for me to slow down. I finally had a good night's sleep, and it makes such a difference.

This afternoon is the official Christmas Party of my workplace, and this year, I'm going. I'll meet with a friend for lunch (former colleague, she's going, too) so we can have our chat and then focus on other people during the party. I'm looking forward to that.

I played a lot more in my game yesterday. It's good fun. I'm also discovering that one of my chars is doing really well in a difficult area. He might be the strongest one I built so far. I'm tempted to get the expansion, but it is an add-on after finishing the full game - and I haven't done so even once. I have only one char who might be close to getting it done. A second one is in the area, but it's a difficult area and I'm not yet experienced in speccing chars for that part. I'll see, and let myself be guided by fun.

(Yes. I hoard characters. I love trying out different specs and hunt for rare items. I have a "mule" character for each special set... and then I play them. emoticon )

The weather is cloudy, windy and dry. That is supposed to change tonight, with rain moving in. I hope I can get home dry from the party.

Nanny: *sending lots of hugs* Stay warm and take good care of yourself. May that cold go away now.

Queeny: Those fires are dreadful. One of my writer friends lives in Ojai, and he evacuated. They have just finished extensive renovations on their home... but even so, I'm glad he and his family are safe.

So glad your neighbor got help from her son and found the energy to put her tree up. That's the best way to deal with hard experiences.

The producers of the advent calendar answered my email, quoting flowery marketing speek, and refusing to take any responsibility. The bad taste can only be caused by bad storage, so it must be the fault of the supermarket... emoticon

I'm so ready for a vacation. Won't do much shopping - most of my family aren't exchanging gifts anymore. I bought little paper notebooks for my nephews, and I'm thinking of maybe bringing speciality foods. But even that isn't a huge favorite.

Susa: I had a few errors for Runboard yesterday, but right now, it's fast as ever. I saw the announcement on Support.

I'm so glad to hear that Hobbes is innocent! But... did he hide your book cover? emoticon

Toss your old undies. Wearing tattered undies doesn't matter to others, of course, but it matters to us. You deserve nice undies. You're worth it. emoticon

OhioSue: I cleaned up for the party today. emoticon

So glad to hear your first bathroom is all done, and you got to take a bath. Hurrah! Hope the master bathroom will be finished soon, as well.

Lucy: It's good to hear that your son's house is still standing. I hope it'll be safe. emoticon

You had quite a long day! Glad your car is almost done, and that you had left-overs to eat. Very good on a long day.

More room statistics. It's still hard to focus. I'll take it easy.

Have a wonderful day, everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

GOOD THURSDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

On this Pearl Harbor day, I send out healing energy to all who need [sign in to see URL] my head in [sign in to see URL] wish for a world where there is no War....
I have to go get my cortisone shots in my toes this morning. Would you believe it's 19 degrees?? And our [sign in to see URL] degrees F. Weather man says "Inversion is setting up for a good 2 weeks".....and "our temperatures will not go above freezing for the foreseeable future"....I don't mind the below freezing part, but I really hate an inversion. It's like being caught in horrible Fog/Smog. Can't see much and can't breath with any kinds of [sign in to see URL] my COPD.
Oh [sign in to see URL] as it is, we are still very lucky...

Buckeyesue....Oh I bet it was luxurious taking a bath in your newly remodeled bathroom! Soon both of them will be gorgeous!
AND yes, this group is very clean! emoticon

Lucy....I am so happy to hear that your son's house is still standing! It is so very terrible all the destruction those fires have caused!
You and hubby had a very busy day yesterday! Happy to hear your hubby got the radiator in your car fixed! emoticon

Firle....I can totally see the logic behind not wanting to add to the marketing overload going on.
So happy to hear you slept well!
I so hope you enjoy your workplace party! Sure hope you get home dry!
To bad the advent people just pushed the blame on the supermarket. It IS their product and they will get the bad name....
[sign in to see URL] a fun day!

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

This morning, I took a shower in the newly remodeled bathroom. So, now I am doubly clean, having taken a bath in the new bathtub yesterday and the new shower this morning. emoticon

(I do love taking baths, especially when it is cold, and I had not taken a bath since September 20. I had really been craving a bath. I did take showers, though, since September 20. emoticon )

I think the second bathroom will go faster than the first. Our master bathroom is quite a bit smaller than the hall bathroom, so there won't be nearly as much tile to do on the floor, around the shower, etc, as in the hall bathroom. The tile work was very time consuming. Also, on the hall bathroom, there was a delay in getting the first tile that we picked out, so we had to order a different one, wait for that, etc. I don't think there will be delays like that on the master bathroom. I think all of the tile is already here.

Re:

Good Morning World! I have already read the newspaper and sorted two dresser drawers this morning. I admit the drawers didn't need a lot of sorting. I just wasn't happy with the order things were in. It is all done! I have 3 1/2 students tonight. The half student will be a whole student starting January, I think.

Lucy, I am very glad that your son's house is still standing. I can't get him out of my mind. My heart breaks for the people who have lost their homes. I am glad your car got its new radiator , but sorry for the hassle Howard had with it. Yay for leftovers!

Hi Firle! I am glad you are looking forward to that party. You may be all done with it now. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I am happy that you enjoy your game. We all need diversions. Ha, ha! I found the book cover!!!! It was as I suspected. I had sat it upright between two books and it just looked like a book. I went through the book shelves, the most likely one first, and felt all the books and there it was! It was in the first bookshelf I checked. Susa smiles about the undies. When new ones arrive, I will sort the old ones and toss out the worst.

Hi Queeny! I hope all goes well with your toes. Our weather is to be like yours, but minus the inversion.

Hi Sue! I am glad to hear that you did take showers from September 20th on. I was beginning to worry. Yay for new bathrooms!

I loved baths, until this house. It is not set up right to enjoy a bath. There is a garden tub in the dressing room area and it is too short to lay down in. It is round. Also, there is carpet around it and no shower to rinse off with when I am done. Sadly, I have just degraded to showers only. I have never tried the tub in the student bathroom. I think that I could lay down just fine in there, but I store cat litter and dog food in that tub.

OKAY...So, today I had my cortisone shots in my toes, that went well. They are really sore right [sign in to see URL] are, cause he has to pull them so hard to get room between the bones to get his needle in there, that it's just shy of dislocating them. I should put ice on them! LOL Then I stopped by D&B for hubby's xmas present, then I stopped at the Post Office, to mail all mt cards and a package of DVD's to Chris and Cali.
[sign in to see URL] am waiting for my butter to soften so I can make a batch of Mexican Wedding Cookies.
Thought I'd stop by and let you know, it's one of those busy days!

HI SUSA...I hope all your 3 1/2 students. Oh, I would not like that bathtub set up [sign in to see URL] here is not quite long enough for me to lay all the way back [sign in to see URL] mostly, so it's okay. HUBBY said he would love to make his bathroom have a nice stand up shower, and move the wall (both bathrooms are back to back) so that he has just the shower, and I could have more room for one of those really nice long old fashioned cast iron claw foot [sign in to see URL] that would be so nice. LOL But I doubt it will happen in this house!

I grew up with one of those cast iron, claw foot tubs. I love them!

I hope your toes feel better, tomorrow, Queeny.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2017

Yay, it's Friday!

I'm still very tired and exhausted. I'm glad it'll be the weekend soon.

The Christmas party was quite nice. Having lunch with my friend and ex-colleague was a really good idea. We talked a lot about the Konrad sequel I've been writing - and she gave me ideas for a third book... emoticon

During the party, I chatted with some colleagues I knew, some who are already retired, and some I had never seen before. I even chatted a little with our chancellor (that's what the head of the administrative body is called, she's basically my BIG big boss). She's nice.

I also showed off my books. I'm learning to do it in a way that makes it fun and interesting to the people I talk to. And I'm having fun with it, too.

It was raining hard with lots of wind when I walked home. I was cold and exhausted when I got home, and I just did the bare minimum of FB work before turning off the computer and doing a little Sudoku before going to bed. I'm feeling a little better today, at least.

It's been raining most of the night, and now we're having showers with snow in them. They even warn of thunderstorms. We might get freezing rain over the weekend. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere.

I'm debating whether to go to Aldi after work, or to the supermarket around the corner from me - which would mean having to carry stuff a much shorter distance. I'm leaning towards making it easy for myself today, although the same kind of bread is cheaper at Aldi's. I may make the decision based on the weather when I leave work.

Queeny: Ouch for the cortisone shots, but at least they do help you. That inversion sounds terrible.

I ditched the advent calendar today. No point in keeping it. And I will avoid that brand in the future.

OhioSue: Baths are lovely, especially on cold, wet days. I miss taking baths. I've only had a shower in my bathroom for the last twenty years, so I make do with hot showers... glad you have both in your new bathroom! And glad the tiles for the master bathroom are already there.

And you're very, very clean now. emoticon

Susa: Hurrah for sorting the drawers.

And I'm happy your half student will become a full student. emoticon I hope he really enjoys the piano.

Hurrah for finding the book cover! Well done with that systematic check!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Back to those room statistics. I'm in a difficult place with them now, very tedious and I even found an error! *sigh*

I'll see how much I can get done today. And when I get home, it'll be the weekend! YAY.

Have a wonderful day today! emoticon emoticon

GOOD FRIDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

So today is going to be ladies day out for Mom and me.
It is supposed to be very foggy with an inversion setting up, we'll see, it's still dark out there. LOL
I do know that it's 24 degrees out there! Brrrrrrrrr
I will get to all my other messages and stuff later when I get home. OH MY Mexican Wedding cookies turned out fabulous last night! I wonder how good they will be for breakfast, with coffee! LOL
My Toes are feeling much better, but now the second part of the cortisone kicks in and my face is all warm and [sign in to see URL] IS a mild allergy to the [sign in to see URL] looks and feels like a sunburn. But that will go away in a few days and I will have 3 full months of mostly pain free walking!
[sign in to see URL] all have a truly wonderful day!

SUSA....the toes feel much better this morning. Just had to rest them.
My Aunt had one of those tubs. I got to bath in it as a [sign in to see URL] in love right then and there!

FIRLE...so glad you had a good time with the Christmas party and friend lunches. Are you picking their brains for book ideas? GOOD GIRL!
It's always good to talk with those who are higher than you. If helps to know eat other.
So glad you figured out how to show off your books and make it a good time for all involved. You struggled with that for a long time.
WHOA! Your weather sounds truly horrific! I would be making WORK much easier on myself! LOL

NANNY..I am sorry to hear about your dil's father.
I am also sorry to hear you are feeling sad again. This world can do that to gentle folk like you. I have friends down on that Port Aransas, TX that was wiped out in hurricane Harvey and if you can believe [sign in to see URL] got several inches of snow. IT NEVER snows there. The people do not even own coats! It's just [sign in to see URL] are open for those folks who are living in the sand dunes cause they have no house yet. But it is bad every where [sign in to see URL] we can do is try to make our little [sign in to see URL] and cozy and happy. The world will have to sort it's self out. And that is not mean or cruel [sign in to see URL] is survival thinking.
I hope Jim feels better [sign in to see URL] you could reschedule that Barbara meeting. emoticon
