Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
Nanny, do you have Lotus Biscoff Cookies there? link The package says they are Europe's favorite cookie, since 1932, that was known as The Original Speculoos. They sure are my favorite packaged cookie.
quote: He's worse than Columbo. *sigh*
Firle, that made me laugh. The poor guy is just lonely.
Susa, we have a lot of little birds that like the mix. The jays are only here when it is cool. They go up into the mountains when it warms up. They also eat the wild yellow plums that Annie and I like.
Four students would make for a busy day for you, wouldn't it?
Queeny, I hope you found something fun to do today.
Yes, that is a Steller's jay in your photo. They are very aggressive and noisy, a lot like crows. We also get scrub jays. They don't have that bushy hat on their head and they have less blue color on them.
I ordered:
North American Herb & Spice Co. Oreganol, Super Strength
Sambucol, Black Elderberry Syrup, Original Formula
Planetary Herbal Full Spectrum, Andrographis.
Marjie, I hope you don't go complaining to the electric company about your low heating bill.
Mary, Yay for the computer class. I think that's a great idea. It would do me some good to take a class.
Awww, your little guys love you so much. I wish you were able to be home with Luke for his last two days.
My son called around 2:00 pm to tell us about the rocket launch at Vandenberg AFB that was live on Youtube. After several delays they postponed the launch until tomorrow. I emailed DS and asked him if the rocket's name is April.
It rained here most of today but is still warm.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
Yay, it's Friday!
And my boss just came in to tell me that she'll be away the rest of the morning, participating in a meeting. Wheee!
Everything worked out well yesterday. Caught the bus to the part of town where my ob/gyn has her practice, got my blood pressure taken (it's been normal for the last few times, yay), and got my exam. Everything is looking good. Part of it was rather painful, because she's thorough. I prefer that, despite the pain. She also always explains the ultrasound she does, and I love her for that.
I took the bus back to town, and got off where I could go to another Aldi. Unfortunately, that one also didn't have my favorite chocolate and the bread I wanted. On the other hand, it had been completely revamped and looked quite impressive. I wandered around, sightseeing.
And then I met a lady who I had gifted a session to last year. She wanted to invite me for tea, and so we set up a meeting for next week. She's very nice and we had a fun little chat.
I'm thinking... Universe, what are you trying to tell me? I keep meeting people?
I walked home through the park, in the rain. And once I was home, I was quite exhausted. It seems I made [sign in to see URL] steps, just by doing my normal stuff. (I do sometimes choose a longer route, and yesterday, I walked from one bus stop to the next one while waiting for the bus. That was ~ 250 steps. I counted.)
I gave myself time snuggled up in my armchair with some Sudoku, and went to bed early. I have to say that I feel more energized today.
Susa: I actually have a plan for unexpected income. But then, it's not truly unexpected, isn't it?
I do hope that once I get those workshops running that I can make considerable income that way.
Yay for figuring out that you didn't need the code. Lesa must be proud of you. I am!
Queeny: Woah, that old furnace guy must have been annoying. Glad you have a new one now.
Oh, my dear friend, thank you for sending all that lovely energy and intention. I do feel happier, actually. It's like I can more easily connect to my inner happiness, if that makes sense.
I also asked the Universe for a sign, so I can know what I'm afraid of - when I get so blocked I can't do a thing. And then I drew the Hanged Man in Tarot, which according to the book I use stands for PASSION. It makes sense... I am a bit scared of living my passions. There's good tapping material right there.
Marjie: I hope you'll find it easier to post pictures soon. It's probably a question of practice. Next year you'll think nothing of it.
Glad your heating doesn't cost you much. Maybe it is rather efficient? Are you living in a well-insulated house?
Mary: I hope your computer class went well! So awesome that you're doing this.
Enjoy your days with Luke. Don't tarnish them with the feeling of loss - he'll sense that. And he does enjoy college, doesn't he?
Lucy: Yes, my neighbor is lonely. I feel for him, and that's why I am so patient with him. But sometimes, I'm exhausted after a long day and just want to get home, and then being patient is hard.
I had to laugh a lot at the rocket you named April. I hope it'll launch fine today.
I will try to look for more errors in my room statistics today. Or maybe save emails... or be lazy. Ahem.
I need to leave a bit early today, because I have an online class starting at 1pm, and I really need a few minutes to grab some food and get comfy at my computer. So I went in a tad earlier today, and also got my boss' permission yesterday. I'm so glad we have flexible times here at work!
One of my office orchids is dying. My colleague overwatered it during my fall holidy. I repotted it, but it didn't like that, it seems. I'm trying to save a few shoots, and have one potted at home already. Once the weather is warmer, I'll take it to the office.
My main character in my paranormal romance is about to work a "miracle" to help her love interest. This will be fun.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

The big supermarkets are suffering and therefore have to keep there prices down.I am off to have my nails done this afternoon with my [sign in to see URL] rent our house and we sometimes have to have the fire and heating on so it is far from being well insulated--Log in or sign up to see linked image content-- Marjie

GOOD FRIDAY, Jan. 12th MY FRIENDS!
Well it is 35 degrees out this early morning, so I doubt the rain from last night [sign in to see URL] that means that in a couple hours Mom and I will be off on our Ladies Day Out. As usual, it will be groceries and then who knows where and finally lunch. Sun is supposed to shine, so that will be nice.
I won't be back on until mid afternoon, so you all behave (or at least don't get caught) and I'll see you again then.

Mary...ooops! I think I must have posted the same time as you yesterday. Did not mean to ignore you.
Sorry you are looking at a few long days of work. Ugh...
And lady, critters always welcome home, most better than husbands! LOL It is so good when they do that.....(I won't tell if you don't).
quote: Google Docs, pivot tables and charts, and Word graphics
Will you PLEASE stop speaking that foreign language!
Lucy....Thanks for the info on that Jay. I do believe ALL Jays are noisy! LOL
I have not heard of those. Except for the Andrographis herb. I believe I used it years ago in association with my messed up digestion. I know some who call it a "Wintertime" herb. Probably due to what you want it [sign in to see URL] and [sign in to see URL] hit most often in Winter...
[sign in to see URL] you.
quote: I emailed DS and asked him if the rocket's name is April.
Firle YIPPIE on an easy Friday! LOL
Happy to hear that all went well on your trip to the Ob/gyn and that everything there went well!
To bad that other Aldi did not have your nummies either. At least you got to see the revamped store.
quote: I'm thinking... Universe, what are you trying to tell me? I keep meeting people?
Perhaps, to keep expanding your horizons. Get out, see and do everything. Don't snuggle into your comfy bed and hide from the world....**HUGS**
You are most welcome for my [sign in to see URL] yes connecting to your inner happiness does make a lot of sense! And it does not surprise you that what you fear the most, is what you love the most. It's always hard to jump off that ledge.
I hope you can get some shoots to start off that orchid.
Good luck with the whole Miracle thing! LOL
Marjie...good morning dear! I hope your washing does get dry. Enjoy your day out with your Daughter.

Re:
Lucy? Do those cookies melt in your mouth? Yes! Four students make a long day! I will get used to it. At least I really like these students. I hope you get to see that launch.
Hi Firle! Yay for the boss being out! I am glad your ob/gyn appointment is done and that the day went well. That is too bad about your chocolate and bread. It is very nice that you met that lady and that you are going out for tea. Oh, I really hope that you can make good money with your workshops! When you get old, like my age LOL, do you get a retirement income? I hope that your class goes well, today, and it is wonderful that your work is flexible. I hope that your orchid survives, if only in its child. I bought the trilogy "The Harper Hall Collection: Dragonsong; Dragonsinger; Dragondrums (Harper Hall of Pern)" and "All the Weyrs of Pern (Dragonriders of Pern)". I am not sure what order to read all of the books in but those two things attracted me.
Hi Marjie! For your signature, put it like this: [img]http://images44.fotki.com/v1655/photos/5/1562815/14414718/GM-vi.gif[/img]. You have to have those image tags around the picture. I hope you have fun getting your nails done, today!
Mary, I am very glad that you enjoyed your computer class! And Yay for one on one attention!
Queeny, I hope you have a fun day, but I know you usually do have a fun day with your mom. I am glad.
Freezing rain is to start here in about half an hour. It is expected to last a couple hours. I sure hope the electric does not go out. If I disappear, that is why. After that we are to get about 4 inches of snow. If it gets colder faster than expected, then we will have less ice and more snow. I don't have anything I have to do today. I can fool around all I want.

Re:
I almost forgot! All the schools are again closed.
I also forgot something funny I wanted to tell you! On Monday, the schools are closed for Martin Luther King day. Well Martin Luther King's uncle lived in my town for many years and died of old age here. Last night when we were talking about the kids having no school again on Monday, the mom told me a funny story. When she was 3 years old and she and her mom were in a parking lot (in front of the store I eventually did picture framing in), she jumped out of their car before her mom could stop her and she peed beside the car. A man took her by the hand and took her to her mother and he said, "I am Martin Luther King's uncle and your daughter just peed beside my car!"

Re: Re:
Hubby sent an email and called me. They have let them out of work at 2 pm because of the weather [sign in to see URL] conditions, wind, snow, etc. That is almost unheard of that they let his work out early.
He called me and said that he is leaving now, around 3 pm. He had some things that he needed to get done, and Monday is a holiday for Martin Luther King Day, so he had to finish these things today.
The temperatures are about 32 degrees, so that might make very hazardous road conditions since it has been raining today, and there was already lots of rain yesterday, melting snow, etc. Roads could be very icy and slippery.
I'll be glad when he is safe at home.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
HI DI HO... Weeeeesa done shopping now. Had a good time as usual. Only hit Walmart and Waremart (WInco)....then had potato soup and lots of laughs at the Country Kitchen. It turned out to be a gorgeous day. Mostly sunny with intermittent clouds and the temps are just about 50 degrees! Feels so great.... Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!
Susa....OMG!! That Martin Luther King's uncle story is hilarious!!
I so hope you don't lose your power! I worry about that more than if you make your doctors appointment..... YOU BE SAFE. Don't even get the mail or paper if its icy!
Sue...I sure hope your hubby is home safe by now.

Sorry that I didn't post [sign in to see URL]'t mean to worry you...
Hubby got home safely and actually got home very quickly. I was surprised that it didn't take him very long to get home at all. Perhaps, there wasn't much traffic because he left work early at about 3 pm. Perhaps, he missed all of the rush hour traffic.
The street out in front of our house looks kind of bad now, though.
Hubby wanted to go to CostCo tonight, but I vetoed that idea! We're just going to stay in tonight.

Re:
My girls are supposed to get clipped in the morning. I am sending them an email, now, that we are not coming. I did get both the paper and the mail. I got the paper while it was still raining. I figured I wouldn't be able to get the mail, but it came early today. I got a message from Amazon that my books had been delivered and the freezing rain had just started. That was at 1:30. Often the mail doesn't come until 4 pm.
I made scalloped potatoes! Yum!

GOOD SATURDAY, Jan. 13th MY FRIENDS!
It's to be clear and sunny today. Up to 43 degrees today. I have no idea what Hubby and I will get into today, but I am certain we will do something. A drive to the mountains would be nice, but the weather up there is foggy, and very windy and due to the warming we had, and then they had a lot of new [sign in to see URL] are avalanche warnings on every single mountain within driving [sign in to see URL] perhaps that would not be the wisest choice. But we will do something....
I hope you all have a great Saturday!

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
Happy Saturday!
So today, I decided that I am a Mindset Mentor for Authors.
And I actually pulled up my Writers' Block ebook and worked on it for two hours. Progress! I need that book to establish myself as expert.
I'm going to ask in a writers' group or two how they feel about mindset support. I see so many lamenting that they can't finish their books... but that doesn't necessarily mean they really want to do something about that, much less that they are willing to pay for it.
So my dream for my future coaching business would be to coach 3-5 VIP clients through writing their novels, run half a dozen online workshops per year, and set up an online class or two every year, to generate passive income. I might even do a big offline writing event.
I know I could live on this! (Plus my books.)
And now I have to build it. Step by little step.
In other news, I walked around the park today, to make my steps goal. I didn't quite get there, after two rounds I was quite done with that exercise. So I cut the third round short and went to the supermarket to grab some groceries. I think I'll get my goal by walking around my apartment over the rest of the day.
Marjie: Woah, fire AND heating does mean it's not really well insulated. Ah, well, at least your heating cost isn't much...
It's cold and gray here, as well, with a nasty wind. At least no rain.
Mary: Happy to hear your class is good! Now you probably know more about Google Docs than I do! I use pivot tables at work. And it's awesome to have such a good teacher-student ratio.
Glad Luke loves college.
Queeny: quote: Perhaps, to keep expanding your horizons. Get out, see and do everything. Don't snuggle into your comfy bed and hide from the world....**HUGS**
Yes, I think so, too. And that's why I went out into the cold today... although I didn't meet anyone today. There were mostly people walking their dogs quicky.
Glad you had a good day out with your mom! Have a great Saturday!
Susa: Yes, I'll get a pension when I turn 67. It will be too low to really live on. It's my own fault for only working part time, and for getting divorced... I hope I can supplement it with my books.
I hope your weather is more gentle than it sounds. It's a good thing you cancelled your girls' appointment.
Oh, that is a funny story! I bet she was quite ashamed.
OhioSue: I'm very glad work let your husband go early and that he got home safely. And good on you to put your foot down to KEEP him home!
I just had lunch/dinner, and will now play a game. And I'll write more for my paranormal romance.
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Re:
Good Morning World! The storm is passed. It blew and howled all night, but I think it looks like we only got about 5 inches of snow. I do not know how much ice we got. It was so windy that most of the snow blew off of my driveway. It was 11 degrees when I got up this morning. Yesterday morning it was 61 degrees. The high here, today, is 14. I hope to work on pictures (on my wall) today. Only time will tell if I do that. I need to go get my newspaper, but I'm too cold right now. Then I will find out how much ice is on the driveway.
Hi Queeny! I look forward to hearing what you do today! Don't go to the mountains.
Hi Firle! Being a Mindset Mentor for Authors sounds like a good plan. Your goals sound good! Getting divorced, initially was devastating for me. I nearly starved to death, literally. I couldn't afford utilities. I struggled a good 10 years with all of that. About 5 years in, my mother found out I was living on oatmeal and McDonald's hamburger only. She started buying me groceries. I don't know what would have happened had she not done that. Shortly before I turned 60, my ex died. That meant that at age 60, I could get widow's benefits, rather than my own Social Security at age 62 or 67 whichever age I chose. My own Social Security would never have bought food or utilities, but my widow's benefits changed my life. So now it is fine that I got divorced. I find it sad that both my ex and my cousin had to die in order for me to make it in retirement. Piano income helps, but I could never have lived on it. It is more of a hobby.

Re: Re:
Hello,
This morning, we went to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to register our new car, which we got just before Christmas!
I hope you don't mind, Susa, that we exchanged the Christmas present that you gave us, the 2017 red Prius, for a 2018 Camry Hybrid in the Blue Crush color.
We have not even driven the new car yet, though. The night that we picked it up, they dropped it off at our house so that I did not have to drive one of the cars back home in the dark.
[sign in to see URL] haven't wanted to drive it yet, in the bad winter weather. So, it has been safely tucked away in our garage since we got it.
[sign in to see URL] asked the bathroom remodelers to clear out their stuff from the other side of the garage so that hubby can park his relatively new car (2015) in the garage, too. So, for the time being, I am still driving the almost 26 year old car back and forth to the senior center, just a little over a mile each way. So, my old car and hubby's little sports car are both being parked in the driveway.
Some of the bathroom stuff (cabinets for the vanity) is in the living room as well as some stuff (top for the bench in the shower, tile for the shower sill, niches, new lights, grab bars, etc) is in the bathroom and bedroom.
The bathroom projects will be done soon. It has been a big project because each bathroom was torn out completely down to the wall studs, so we have new [sign in to see URL], ceiling, plumbing, some new outlets, floor and wall tile, bathtub, shower, toilets, closet shelves, etc, etc, etc. I am very happy with "my" new bathroom, and the other bathroom should be done soon.
Then after registering the new car, we went to CostCo and bought a few things. Roads were pretty good.
Last week, we also met with the designer who helped us with the bathrooms, and we are planning to do our kitchen, too. We are not ready for the actual work to be [sign in to see URL] we want a break from workmen in the house for a while, but the planning will take quite a while anyway. We will probably be changing the layout quite a bit, taking out the U shaped working area, the wall cabinets, and probably taking out a half wall separating the eating space and the family room. We hope to have the actual work started by late spring or early summer.
Tonight, we are going to Phantom of the Opera.

I like it a lot, Sue! Except I would have liked red better. You need to add on to your garage for the sports car. Your bathrooms sound wonderful. I am so glad you got those done. Yay for a new kitchen! That is even more exciting than the bathrooms. I was wondering about the roads. I think they will be fine for my doctor's appointment on Monday. Have fun, tonight!

Hi Mary! Poor Ginny kitty. That is too bad that she is losing her refrigerator top. I am very glad that Luke gave you a Mommy task to do. Things are going to be quiet after he is gone, but he will be back!
Now, I am off to bed.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
Good Sunday morning. I am glad you enjoyed the opera Sue. We are going to see Madame butterfly in March. We have seen it twice before but it is a beautiful Opera and it always makes me cry. We are off to church soon then i am going to sort out my wardrobe and drawers as there is far to much in them. I will fill two black bags for the charity shop.I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday. Marjie

GOOD SUNDAY, Jan. 14th MY FRIENDS!
Today is fogged [sign in to see URL] to the weather, sun has not come up yet to tell if they are right or not. LOL
Today we need to go to pick up some things at the grocery store, and clean house. Really have no idea what [sign in to see URL] might actually be it!
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was warm, had to be close to 50. So we wandered through the neat town of Eagle, did a little shopping and had dinner at the Wild West Bakery and Espresso cafe. They normally have the best burger in the area, but on Saturday nights, it becomes a wonderful Italian cafe, wine, great food and even music. What a neat surprise that was. And what a perfect date night....
[sign in to see URL] weekend has been very nice indeed! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend...

Firle....I am glad you 'decided' that you are what you are! LOL
And I am glad you are acting on that decision. I hope you get a lot of interest from your groups.
And I hope that you finally get your wish.
I love your workout....
quote: Yes, I think so, too. And that's why I went out into the cold today... although I didn't meet anyone today. There were mostly people walking their dogs quickly.

Susa....I love what you wrote to [sign in to see URL] is a hard story, but an insight in your determination. Those hard days made you better.... I hope you were very careful going for your newspaper! And DANG! [sign in to see URL] is freaking cold!
Marjie...I'm glad you went to the supermarket with your daughter.
And good luck sorting out your wardrobe and [sign in to see URL] so need to do that!
Sue...WOW! You all have a lot of time to register your car. When we bought our Lincoln we had 7 days to get down and get ours registered!
I bet you can't wait for those bathrooms to be completely done. And your house to be back to normal!
Can't wait to see what what you all do with the kitchen!!
I am happy to read you all had a great time at the Phantom of the Opera!
Mary.....Oh poor Ginny kitty! Your daughter's cat sounds like my Patches! He is now sporting a pheromone collar!
So glad I could make you laugh. AND I wish you the very best in your computer classes...
Your "fog" sounds like our inversion. Where it's dark and foggy here, and gorgeous blue skies up in the mountains!
I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing evening.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018
Happy Sunday!
It's late afternoon here, and I've accomplished quite a few things.
I went for a lovely walk because the weather was so beautiful. And I certainly got my steps goal - I'll see how many when I synch my wristband later today. Probably 10k steps or more.
I stopped at cafe/restaurant and had a mug of hot cocoa and a fresh waffle, and then chatted with the couple who came to sit at my table (it was full and I had a big table). Just nice, random strangers.
I also cooked myself a full meal, with enough left over to eat tomorrow. That's a big thing. And since I didn't buy any junk food, nor any wine, I'm also living healthy today.
The thing that dampens my mood a little that I asked in one writer group (first of many) what they thought about mindset coaching for authors. They... hated the idea. Didn't think it had any value and that writer groups are just fine for support. Warned about charlatans grabbing all your money. *sigh*
I'm telling myself I need to explain this better, and I will try again in another group tomorrow. But that kinda hurt.
Ssua: I'm very glad the storm has passed and you didn't lose electricity.
I'm sorry you had such a hard time after your divorce. That sounds horrible. And it's sad that you "profited" from the deaths of your ex and your cousin. But think about it: Would they begrudge you? I think even your ex wouldn't mind you having a safe life.
Marjie: Good luck with your sorting! I need to do that, too.
How's the weather for you?
OhioSue: Yes, you need a bigger garage! I totally get that you're still driving the old car in this weather and that the new one is sitting warm and dry in the garage. Hurrah for registering it!
How exciting to think about remodeling your kitchen. Of course, now it's only you two, and occasional family visits and no longer a full family eating every day. I'm sure it'll turn out well!
And yay for the Phantom of the Opera!
Mary: I'm glad Luke made you feel important! Because you are!
You nailed it... I may have to raise interest in mindset coaching for authors, because I think they'll love the results: write more, be happier with their writing, less fear, more confidence, and possibly better earnings.
Now I want to write a little for my Writers' Block ebook, then a bit for my paranormal romance, and I want to play, because it's Sunday!
Have a wonderful day!

Queeny: I missed you!
So glad you had a beautiful day yesterday. A bit of sun really helps to perk up. And yes, maybe I did meet them.
There's an Asian lady walking in the park with a red coat, a red hat and huge sunglasses. I've seen her a few times now, but she didn't quite react to my smile. Ah, well.
And I'm not interacting with the dogs unless they come up to me. Not my place, although I love dogs...
to you!

Re:
Good Morning World! It is beautiful outside, but cold. The high is to be 17. I have students coming this afternoon . . . to pick up the school back pack they left here on Thursday. I don't know what time they are coming. I assume I will just hand it out the door. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I was so glad that the snowstorm is behind me, but now they are saying it is going to snow all day tomorrow. I have to get to that appointment, so I will be driving in snow for the first time in about 6 years, but I have to get there. I just hope that the snow holds off a bit, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
Hi Marjie! I have seen Madame butterfly, but it has been a very long time ago. The only thing I remember about it is that I was required to go by the music department and my boyfriend and I couldn't wait to get out of there and that it was very long. I guess I should have paid more attention to the opera. LOL It feels so good to get clothes sorted out that a person is no longer wearing. I did that not long ago. What a relief!
Hi Queeny! It does sound like a wonderful weekend with gorgeous weather. It is too bad you are fogged in, today.
Hi Firle! In high school I set a project for myself. I decided that anyone who did not smile at me that I would say "Hi" and be friendly to them, no matter how they acted. It was a great project and it is amazing how much people change. Oh, that is too bad about your suggestion to the group about the mindset coaching for authors! Do they think that EFT practitioners are charlatans? Ugh, if they do. Yes. I think that both my ex and my cousin would be glad that I am safe.

We could not register our car until we got the Certificate of Title paperwork from the dealer. We did not receive that until last week. We registered the car on the first Saturday after we got the title paperwork.
When we got the car, the dealer put on a temporary paper plate.
When we registered our car, we got special "Initial Reserve" plates, so it will take a little while to get the permanent plates. I can't remember how [sign in to see URL] a few weeks. The department of motor vehicles gave us temp plates until the permanent plates arrive in the mail.
Of course, we did call our insurance company right away after purchasing the car, so the car was insured pretty much immediately.

Firle, I'm glad that you are having a beautiful day and went for a lovely walk. That is great that you are getting 10,000 steps per day.
How many km/steps is it from your home to where you work?
Sounds as if you are having a pretty good day today. I'm glad.
