Me too, Nanny, 58°F outside and 75°F inside the house, I've put a heavy winter shirt on to keep warm and I'm trying not to put the heater on.

Nanny, I would never take the mickey on you for taking a spot of brandy to try to get warm but alcohol doesn't make you warm after entering your body system and dilating your blood vessels which will make you even colder.
Yes, it's a comfort to warm your tummy for a few minutes. :))

I thought flip flops that a toe thingy went between your big toe and the second toe?

I'm sorry you're so cold. It finally warmed up here for the first time this year, and I've been enjoying balcony time and not freezing for once ...

Susa, when I was in Japan I saw a dock worker wearing "toe boots" as shoes but only the big toe had a pocket. They were really shoes.

They would fit you Nanny. The toes are a bit long on me. I don't care though.

The strange thing is that I was going to buy one pair, but one pair was about $[sign in to see URL] Then the next ones I looked at were 12 pair for $18/[sign in to see URL]. So guess what? I have 12 pair. :laugh

I can't wear them in public unless I hide them in shoes. I can wear them around the house.

My daughter would have apoplexy if I wore them in public. :giggle

Your daughter needs to loosen up, Susan.

I love funky socks! They make me laugh.

I agree that my daughter needs to loosen up. What was that saying I recently discovered that Queeny posted?

quote:

They laugh at me because I'm different;
I laugh at them because they're all the same.

I think I will go put that on my Facebook page. :)) or here at Runboard in my profile.

I like those socks, Susan. I have several pair of flamingo socks, kitty socks, fish socks, and a bunch of mismatched knitted socks that are sold that way on purpose. I bet those are comfortable, and they are definitely different. And they would work well with flip-flops.

Re: Re:

Susa, I have often wondered about the toe socks. Are they comfortable? Are they hard to get on and get each toe in the right place?

We used to go on some overnight retreats with a church group. One of the women always wore toe socks. She had many different patterns, including one like yours with the rainbow stripes.
