the Jet stream??

thought this might be of interest to HG, if no one else.

well as I child I was told that the Jet stream helped us with our quite mild weather. I always thought of it as being up through the Bristol Channel, and Irish Sea..

well this morning, one of our weather ladies tried to explain it to us..

Apparently it is all around the Globe..

so here is just one article I found about it... seems it could affect the "scientists" theories on climate change?

I noted the word "MAY" in the headline... wondering if this does take us any nearer to understanding the half of this..

quite interesting to me...

Yes, I think the Jet stream and how far north or south it extends affects weather "change" quite a bit. Not that it is responsible for global changes all by itself, but it is a factor, for sure.

It's definitely a factor and has been a major factor in the unusual weather we've had this winter. The Jet Stream has dipped much farther south than it normally does, allowing much colder air to get further south than [sign in to see URL], all the arctic temps that most of our country has had all winter.

I hope the jet stream scoots itself back up.

And then there are El Niño and La Niña weather patterns which oscillate from one to the other. I think they might affect the jet stream somewhat too.
