posticon Can't Stand The Heat!

Seriously, it's Christmas and like 80 degrees out (farrenheight) and in Vermont it's not even close to snowing emoticon

It's because the Eastern US is extra warm this year but that's too bad! No snow tubing then but at least they have better weather than I have now emoticon :storm: emoticon

Anyway, you can talk about the weather and if you like the heat or not. For me, it's bad emoticon

Re: Can't Stand The Heat!

Brian, I'll have to teach you a German word for weather... because we're having almost the same kind right now, except it's not quite that warm. (Around 12C, which is about ~ 53F)

We call low temps, rain and high winds "Sauwetter". emoticon

Translated literally, it means "sow weather", but it really hasn't anything to do with the poor pigs. It just means really, really unpleasant weather.

And woah, I just did the conversion. 80F = 26C. That's a summer day here.

It is rainy and in the 50's here. I was just trying to figure out when there would be a break in the rain so I could go grocery shopping. It looks like Tuesday is the day.

Brian, I talked to my sister-in-law yesterday and it was 86 at her house. She is in Boca Raton, Florida.

Gray, cloudy and in the 50's here, which is cooler than the last two days, when it was in the 70's. It's way warmer than usual for this time of year and it feels strange, even though I don't actually like the cold. I don't think this kind of weather is good for you.

Re:

Around midnight tonight we might get a part of that storm. It starts with snow, sleet and freezing rain and ends by 1pm Tuesday.

I'm not scheduled to go out anywhere but I might lose electric power if there's very high winds that could break tree limbs that fall on the power lines.

Pauline, I love that you posted in Fahrenheit! I didn't have to use my converter.

It is 37F degrees here. That is 3C at your place.

I hate this converstion, mullarky, (sorry Firle) but I have been here too many years, if feet and inches, ie. imperial,, and only one or two of them I can convert in my head

similarly in f and c.... strange though I can "feel" the low temps in c.. ie. 3 but when we get to the warmer, I am lost....

we got some white frost this morning! yippee, not quite freezing, but cold enough..

now we want the wet stuff that keeps falling from the skies to stop,,

Re: Re:

I walked to my doctor's new office a little while ago, about a block away, and it was raining. There was someone spreading salt (?) on the pathway up to the door, so I imagine we are supposed to be having ice, too.

(I walked to the office because the paperwork for new patients that I picked up yesterday is a very poor copy, and some parts of it are not very legible. I told the lady, and I asked her if she had any better copies. She said that they were all like that!)

She showed me one of the other copies, and asked if I would like that one. It is not any better, but I took it anyway. I wanted to have two copies in case I messed up the first one when I was filling it out. I guess it is good that I took the second copy even though it is also poor, because I was planning to make a copy of the blank forms, and a copy of a poor copy would be even poorer!)

I hope you get your paperwork all filled out, without messing up too much.
