Is there any chance you can get to the feeders using the snow blower? Or is it too deep for that?

It's probably to deep. But worse than [sign in to see URL]'s also ice on the bottom 2 feet. AND the snow is heavy, wet and sticky. When you shovel, you can only take about 1/2 shovel full and then it sticks to the shovel, so you have to bonk it.

Yesterday....dump trucks drove by our house, coming from the other end of Farber drive carrying snow! They came every 10 to 15 minutes for a good 4 or more hours. I don't know if they had snow from the roads piled up by the LDS church or [sign in to see URL] that is a LOT of snow!

Just some bird shots. I HATE the inversion. It makes the sky GREY! Just ugly... emoticon

What kind of bird is this, Queeny? It is not a house finch. It looks like a dark-eyed junco, except it has that reddish brown on it and a junco would be all black with a white belly.

SUSA...I think it is STILL a Dark-eyed Junco. This page as some very similar to [sign in to see URL] scroll all the way towards the bottom and the one that say's, "Dark-eyed Junco (male) Oregon"...is really close. Mine has more dark on his back, but the side color is that reddish brown.
]HERE....

And ]HERE....is some from Idaho, Oregon, [sign in to see URL] bit lighter, but mine might be in Winter skin...

Ashes looks a lot like his mother. She has such a beautiful face.

I especially like that picture of Misty on the entertainment center. She is a beautiful girl and Patches is a handsome boy.

My kids had a kick stick at one point. I wonder what I did with that. It is probably in the stuff I put away so that Piper doesn't eat it.

Yes, Ashes does look like his Mama in his face. He's the most adorable, gentle cat. Every morning he beats me into my bathroom and jumps on the sink counter and when I sit down to 'do my thing', he does head bonks with me!
THEN, I say......"Okay lets get Daddy up", he hauls but back to the bed and once hubby is up, he has to stop and pet Ashes, before continuing onto do his bathroom duties, THEN he beats us down the hall to show me where the cat food is, in case I forget, and waits patiently with the others for breakfast! There is NOT a mean bone in that cats body ... emoticon

OH, I would make sure that Piper does not chew up the kick stick either. I do not know if cat nip is bad, but they use batting infused stuffing inside the sticks!

I love your Ashes story! He sounds like a great kitty with a lot of personality.

I don't know if catnip hurts dogs or not. I need to research that a bit more because Piper is crazy of catnip and so was Isabel. I always put it up high so she can't get it, but some floats down to her.

He is. I wish the other boy, Smoky was as friendly. AS he has the long hair and should be brushed. But we can barely touch him, let alone cut his nails and brush him.

OKAY, so I did a quicky search on Catnip and dogs.....
quote:

Although the name makes us assume that it is specifically for cats, catnip is fine for dogs too. With its tranquilizing effect (yes, it can actually calm pets), catnip is a safe herbal remedy for our canine friends. You can use it to alleviate nervousness and sleeplessness in many animals.

And then on ]THIS SITE.....there is a LOT of good info on "Catnip/catmint".
YOU might even want to USE it on your pups during a storm.... emoticon

Hubby beginning to take them down. It's going to take a couple months to get these down and a TON of trips to the recycle dump! [sign in to see URL] is [sign in to see URL], that shows you how tall those trees are.

Yes, it is going to be a lot of work!
We also want to remove our rain gutters, that in itself is a lot of work, but then we need to repaint the trim. AND we do not have any of that color left from the previous owners. We have tried to match it but have never come close.

Trust me, I have enough to do this Summer. I do not really want to do that. emoticon

I got a few more [sign in to see URL] and that!

Drove by the collapsed onion storage. Not much has changed. They need permits from the county, to just take all that to the dump. But as it's considered hazardous, due to insulation and who knows what else is in those old buildings, plus the [sign in to see URL], it's the same.

My new ceiling fan. First not the most flattering photo of Marcy, from Fruitland Electric installing it.
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Next the fan. It looks small, but the blades from one side to another, is 52 inches. It IS only 3 bladed, but it has 6 speeds, forward and reverse, as well as an LED light that is INCREDIBLY bright and dimming. WITH a remote.

I think it should save us some energy costs. And let us go some days WITHOUT the AC on.

HERE is a TRULY HORRIBLE picture, but I dared not move closer. My Northern Flickers are back. AND they like my new wood feeder with their food on either end. It's easier to hang onto. But I was across the living room, using only my cell phone, shooting into the light! emoticon
