Ha, ha!!!! Now Lesa would tell you that I am incorrect, but the best way to explain it is, it is inside your mouse and you have to set it down somewhere using your mouse. (It is not really in your mouse, but that is what you must use to get it out.) You can't go find your clipboard on your computer.

You need to paste it into a photo editor, like Paint. However, Paint can be a frustration, too.

If you have copied anything with your mouse since you saved the screenshot, you no longer have the screenshot. When you copy anything, even a word, it is technically saved to your clipboard. Once you save something new, what was in there is gone.

Over time I have figured out an easier way to do screen shots. However, you would have to do your picture over again now.

In your "computer search" (not browser search), look for the "snipping tool". Save it to your toolbar and then you will never lose it. When the snipping tool comes on, and it is very small, you will see the word NEW. In the drop down menu be sure that Rectangular Snip has a dot in front of it.

Then drag your mouse across what you want a picture of. (You will have to hold down the left click while you drag.) Then under Save Snip, the second little thing at the top of your new picture, you can save it to a folder or where ever you wish. Name it whatever you like. You don't have to have a photo editor involved at all.
---------------------------------

If you are trying to capture something that quickly flashes onto your screen, you have to go the old route with Paint because you can't do the snipping tool fast enough.

Thank you, Susa. It is too late to get into that tonight but I should be able to try it tomorrow.

After you do it just once, you will find it very easy. When that snipping tool pops up, your page you want to capture grays out. Just ignore that gray. You can still copy it and it will be bright and clear once it is copied.

Susa, I love your explanation! It's so intuitive and fun.

Lucy, I hope you managed to do the screenshot just the way you want it.

[sign in to see URL] think it was you who told me how to find mine too! emoticon
I now, save screen shots and stuff into a "blank presentation" Power [sign in to see URL] do my thing there, save and then just have to open THAT with my Photoscape, and crop off the white.

BY THE [sign in to see URL] turned me on to that Photoscape when we were in Arizona and I lost my programs on my PC and did not have the disks with me to install my normal photo [sign in to see URL] have my other [sign in to see URL] STILL USE PHOTOSCAPE! emoticon

Re: Susa, please

I will save these instructions and do some practicing. I needed a screen shot to show Yahoo Community what I was not getting, but after something over 24 hours, my Yahoo mail returned. No idea what happened.

A few years ago I had to get some screen shots for Lisa when I couldn't enter Runboard. At that time I think I had Windows XP and it was much easier to do a screen shot.

Thank you Susa. emoticon

You are most welcome, Lucy. It is good to know how to do this before you need it. I remember being very frustrated by screenshots.
