me and him, and infection!

Been to the docs today, due to this tummy bug still lurking in me, and Jim also having diarrhea

was a good appointment, the doc was really understanding and seemed to really know what we had been through, and going through

so seems I still have this "foodpoisoning" bug and Jim could have it also, but he has to give a sample to have it analysed to confirm or otherwise..

she has given us a prescription for antibiotics
and really understood why I was feeling so very low, crying, and so very depressed..

she suggested that I give it some time before deciding that I have depression, ie. get rid of this infection, and some more time to grieve, and I was so relieved to hear that that I am not a depressed sort of person, and she also understood how that I have been so healthy, and what a huge shock to my system, not only the bacterial infection, but being ill and in hospital, that was a huge shock to me, and that is how I felt.. she seemed to know that without me having to say so.

so ... keep away from the gks! and we have a birthday boy this Friday,, can go to shops, within moderation, sort of thing,, best not to
see relatives and friends till the botics got into our system..

I feel so much better, lifted up, already...
thanks for listening

Dear Nanny,

it's wonderful you found a doc who understands you. Yes, the hospital would have been a horrible shock for you... glad she recognized that and said so.

The good thing is that you survived the shock and that you're mending, even if it's taking much longer than you expected. This infection will pass, but it might take more time than you are used to.

Just be careful and don't share it with anyone else. *hugs*

You will be better soon. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re: me and him, and infection!

oh Firle,
seems I have "shared" it with my hubby!

and he is being a difficult patient, as soon as we have the "sample" for the lab, we can start on the antibiotics, I have done mine, so thought I would go and pick up the prescription antibiotics and then I can get started..

took the "sample" into the docs surgery, and the receptionist says, can only take that between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm.

duh!

so got the prescriptions, trying to get hubby to drink water,,, and he will not! MEN!

I told him he will end up in hospital, dehydrated,, but will he listen... so struggling with him now..

thanks Firle,, it is so good to be able to talk and someone is listening

*more hugs*

Yes, it's hard to argue with men sometimes. Maybe it's easier to fill up a bottle or two and tell him that's what he has to drink during the day - and give him a printed sheet about it, if he needs that.

Then it's not you nagging him, it's giving him a task - and he can be manly about doing it. *winks*

Wishing you all the best.

Re:

Nanny, I am very glad that the doctor sat and listened to you. You have been through a very lot lately, even more than the hospital. You needed for her to really listen to you. She sounds like she knows what she is doing.

Now, I hope you can kick this bug and that Jim will cooperate to kick it, too. We don't want him sick, but we also don't want him to give it back to you after you recover.
