You would need to email me your Photobucket name and password.

I would not post them all, though. I simply don't have that much time right now, but I would pick some good ones.

Jim and I decided, with Bridie`s help, that we should get a male ginger cat.
been searching on the web here, but no reply to three sellers, so kept searching and came across our local paper had an article about a Sanctuary here

I think this was the article, [sign in to see URL]

so I phoned them, and was told that they possibly had a ginger male kitten, so we arranged to go there..

and yes, a 4 week old kitten, well I think they were guessing the kittens age,
they would have let me take him away there and then, but I said I was not capable of looking after such a young kitten, so hopefully, we can phone again in a couple of weeks, perhaps they will have a better idea of the kittens age, well kitten not with his mum, they think his mum got killed out in the fields...

so... a possibly 6 week old kitten? don`t know what it would need ... maybe have to leave him there a bit longer... the owner of the Sanctuary has lots of experience...

we will see.
we are going to call him Sandy (Sandi)

This gives me goosebumps, Pauline! I sure hope that you get him. I do think that 4 weeks is a bit too young for you, but at 6 weeks, he should do fine with you! He will be able to get in and out of a litter box unhelped and eat big boy food. They can tell exact age at this point, clear up through several months old. They can tell by their teeth. Two different vets knew that Hobbes was 7 weeks old when he was found.

oh thanks for doing the photo, Susan, and thanks for the information, I was hoping that approx 6 weeks, they could have a better idea of age,, I am sure our vet will not be "happy" if we take a 6 week old kitten to them!

not sure yet if we will collect Sandi, and take him straight to the vet, or come home first and then make an appointment to go to the vet..
what do y`all think?

the Sanctuary man says his eyes could change from blue,, we shall have to watch that..

in fact it was John, (sanctuary man) who said, give me your phone, let`s get a photo of him for you! so very kind a person, so kind can excuse the state of the place outside.... but the kittens cages, (and lots of room for them to move about, not small) were clean and well done.

I have lots to think about for the next 2 weeks, bed for Sandi, we got a litter tray the other day, couldn`t wait! emoticon so litter next and his food, will leave the food a little while till we see what he is eating..

then will get the vet to microchip him, apparently, here in England that is legal proof that he is yours, if not microchipped and cats get lost, no proof of ownership. then vaccinations, and date for him to be neutered, but I think that is not till about 4 months or so.. and his regular flea and worming,, may even join our local vets pet club, will see.

From being mainly a dog person, now becoming a cat person.

Oh another thing Would WELCOME YOUR ADVISE ON, EVERYONE!!!
when we collect him, we have a large cat basket, but Jim reckons we should wrap him in a blanket and I carry him home whilst Jim drives? what do you think? it is about an 8mile journey to our house.

When you get him, I would wrap him in a blanket and hug him close the whole way home. It will bond him to you and he will feel secure. If he were an older cat, I would put him in a crate for the ride home, but he is a baby. I have a tendency to want to go straight to the vet's. You don't want to expose him to your other cat until he has been to the vet's.

Susan is [sign in to see URL] to the vet! Let the vet make sure he is not carrying something that may not show up in him, but could harm others.
AND he may get his first set of shots right then and [sign in to see URL] him less likely to catch something from someone else. I know here Upper respiratory infection is every where and very easy to catch!

The only thing I worry about is how you can hold [sign in to see URL] tiny kittens can wiggle free and become a danger in a moving car!
I have never held any of my cats/kittens in a car. I have always had a nice blanket inside the secure carrier. ALL carriers of which had secure locking doors and no way to push out. I once had a kitten escape the "cardboard" box type of cheap carriers that the shelter sent them home in.
THE ONLY time I have ever held a kitten/cat in my lap was when they were hit by a [sign in to see URL] did this because I did not think the cat would survive the trip to the [sign in to see URL] I wanted her last moments alive to be ones that she felt safe and [sign in to see URL] in a hard scary crate.

Cool butterfly, Nanny! You did great posting the picture. I love your sun dried sheet, too.

I have always heard, that the trip home with a kitten is the biggest bonding experience and whoever holds him close is who he bonds to. You could drop him down inside a big sock to carry him home and then in a blanket. Then he would not escape so easily. However, I have never had an issue carrying a kitten home. They always snuggled down inside the blanket. I even carried Joseph close, in a towel while I drove. Of course, I wasn't set up to be taking a kitten home. I stopped along the road I found him and called my vet and took him straight there.

Re: Nanny's Photo Thread (Pauline)

thought I should come update this.

well I think I said that Sandi had to be put to sleep by the vet. so we went to the Rescue man again, and it was so difficult to choose.
In the end I think , John, the Rescue Man, sort of guided us to Miss T as she is now officially named.
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

this is the day she came here, late in the afternoon

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

This is Miss T yesterday...

I am hoping to get a photo everyday, I do have some more but haven`t yet posted them to Gifyu

of course it is all down to my belove Bridie, who told me to get a kitten, had a strong image of kitten dancing around my feet, and I am convinced that Bridie told me, guess I got the colour wrong, who knows,

She does love to cuddle, when it is not galloping around the sofa and up and down the stairs, and all that stuff...

we go to the vets tomorrow morning for her check up, to see if she has put on enough weight, to have her vaccination. I do so hope so.. being so close to her I cannot tell if she has grown, she still looks so very tiny to me, but that , I guess, is comparing her to Charliecat.

but she is eating well, sleeping well, and playing well.. must be good?

uses her litter tray, but last couple of days, she has not covered her toilet
wonder why that is, cos she was covering it well with the litter.
