Raven Daughter by Audra Trosper

The series is called "Raven Daughter", and so far, Audra has two books out:

"Unveiled"

Being blood bound to Caius, a powerful and rather irritating demonborn, was never on my bucket list. Of course, neither was being a reaper or learning I’m not fully human.

In fact there are a lot things going on in my life now that weren’t on that list. Like almost having my immortal life cut short. Or finding out my unusual heritage may get me killed.

The story starts out gently and then picks up speed very nicely. I love how Audra only gradually reveals what's really going on. And there is a bit of romance, too.

"Betrayed"

Sometimes the actions are worth the consequences.

I was never supposed to go to the Between. I was never supposed to fall in love with Caius. And yet, I’ve done both. Since stepping through that portal, I’ve done a lot of things I never thought I would.

The story continues at speed, and the romance gets more intense (there is some sex, but not graphic). More secrets are revealed, and the world gets both more complicated and "bigger" with new areas and inhabitants. "Between" is a fascinating place, quite full of fantasy elements. Great fun for a fantasy buff like me.

I have enjoyed reading both books, and can hardly wait for #3. I personally think this is Audra's best writing yet. emoticon

Edit: The covers were made by a mutual friend of us, Katie Jennings. My mistake.

Do you know Audra, Firle? It sounds like she is a good writer. She has good reviews, but I hope they aren't all from friends. The one book actually has a good number of reviews.
