Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

Nanny, I'm pretty sure that it would be all right for Miss T to sleep on your bed. If she gets uncomfortable with your push, she will just move. If you don't close your bedroom door, you won't need a litter box in your room. I have always let my cats sleep wherever they wanted and they always choose the softest, most comfortable places.

I am sorry that Jim is not feeling well. I hope his doctor is doing his/her job as he/she is supposed to do. Is Jim letting you go to his appointments with him? Can you press the doctor to do more?

Hopefully, you have plenty of heat in your home. Your part of the world is getting a lot of bad weather now, as are our eastern states.

Is Marjie someone you know from another board?

Sue, emoticon I hope you aren't going to the senior center while it is so cold.

Queeny, I am surprised that Mom wants to go out in the cold. I sure wouldn't. Anyway, I'm sure that you will have some fun together and a nice lunch.

Have they determined the cause of the fire in your neighborhood that killed that elderly couple? I am wondering why they couldn't get out.

Susa, Your sweatshirt is adorable! You have so many cute animal tops.

Thank you for posting the pictures of Roy and his wife. I only remember seeing a picture of him with his motorcycle several years ago.

I think it was good that you cancelled your students. Schools are closed all over the place to minimize the danger from people being outside.

You mention Joseph wanting to play all night. Blacky will sometimes bite my feet and try to get me to play but I won't move my feet and he soon gets bored and goes to sleep.

I forgot to tell you, Blacky doesn't like his self heating mat. He will not sleep on it. Go figure.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Dinner out last night was OK. Howard enjoyed his shrimp dinner. I ordered a Chef Salad but brought most of it home. It had way too much ham, turkey and cheese and not enough lettuce. Yes, it was a good deal for the money but I like my salad heavy on the salad. emoticon I was going to order the meatloaf special until the waitress told me that the mashed potatoes were not homemade, but usually are. Everyone tells me I am a picky eater.

emoticon I have to tell you this! Remember the table fiasco the last time we went out to dinner, Christmas Day? Well, last night I sat in the booth on one side and Howard sat at the other side of the table. My bench rocked severely when I leaned back. I said to Howard, "Look at this". When I leaned back to show him the bench fell on the floor. emoticon We moved. I told Howard "We are batting 1000. I wonder if the roof is going to cave in when we go to Sunday Brunch.

Just as we were driving out my phone rang. "Hi Grandma, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!. We talked for a minute then my son got on and said if I would check my email I would find that he added 6 months of Kindle Unlimited to my account. emoticon We didn't talk long because it was dark and it is illegal to use a phone while driving here, as it probably is everywhere.

My Australian Shepherd calendar arrived on Jan 2nd. I have ordered one every year since I got my first Aussie, 14 years ago. Because I love the pictures, I hang the old ones in Howard's shop. This is the one I bought. =oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1]Link

Hi Lucy!

Yes, I am going to the senior center even though it is so cold. Many days our temperatures have been right around 0.

However, I only have to drive about a mile to the senior center. So, I just have to get in my car which is in the street or in the driveway, and then just drive about a mile.

I was glad to get back to my classes, to have a schedule again. Monday there were no classes because of New Year's Day.

On Tues, I went to aerobics line dancing.
On Wed, I went to line dancing.
Today (Thurs), I went to Zumba and line dancing. Tomorrow, I will go to strength class.

It is nice to get back to the exercise routine after the holidays when we had almost no classes for about two weeks..

It is nice to do the exercise and also nice to see the people again.

I also stopped in to look at the puzzle. It is still the same [sign in to see URL] one with all of the birds in the snow. One day, I worked on the puzzle for a little while, and put in about 10 pieces. The puzzle is probably about 3/4 of the way done now.

This week for aerobics line dancing and Zumba, we had a substitute because our regular teacher is having a hip replacement on Friday. She already had one hip done several years ago, and now she needs it on the second hip.

The substitute is quite a bit younger. She is about 40 years old while our regular teacher is about 70 years old. The new teacher has a different style than the regular teacher, and it is nice to change things up a bit sometimes.

The substitute is very conscientious and so worried about how she is teaching the class. She got up at 4 am this morning to practice some more for the class! She used to work at our city's community center but is now working at our city's senior center. She can teach all kinds of classes and does some administrative duties, too, and she is very enthusiastic. She is really a good addition to the staff and will be a very valuable employee because she can wear many different hats.

We all assured her that we really liked how she taught the class, so I hope she will feel more at ease teaching our classes now. We really don't bite! emoticon

Hi Lucy! That is too bad that Blacky does not like his heating pad, but this year my cats don't want anything to do with it either. However, Lily is loving hers. It is hard to tell what they are going to like. That is crazy about your bench! You didn't get hurt did you? I hope that you are safe at your table on Sunday! I would have like bringing all that extra salad home. I love to stretch meals I get out for several days. I am sure you just added more lettuce at home, which is what I would have done, of you could make a sandwich one day. Yes! It is illegal to use the phone here, while driving a car, but people still do it anyway and worse than that, they text! How can you type and drive? What is Kindle Unlimited? I love your calendar. You will laugh. This year, while searching in my storage room, I found my Dachshund calendar from 2007 and wouldn't you know! It right on for this year! It was a favorite calendar for me that year and so I had saved it. I am using it this year. I often buy Dachshund calendars.

Hi Sue! I am glad you are back into your routine. It is not much farther to your senior center than it is to my mailbox, so I can see why you would go. It is good to start the car up every day, too. I am glad you like the new teacher. You need to get that puzzle done!

In my book, today, a little white dragon was hatched. Oh, I want one!

GOOD FRIDAY, Jan. 5th MY FRIENDS!

It is 29 degrees out and foggy. Would you believe we have RAIN coming in tonight? [sign in to see URL] freezing rain, then turning over to just rain. What a weird Winter! LOL But I will take it over the record breaking snowfall that caved in roofs last Winter.
Have no idea what today will bring, really have nothing on my "to do" list. Guess I'll be working on photos, one way or the [sign in to see URL] May you all have a fabulous day......

Good Morning World! Well, barely morning. I did not sleep well last night. I looked at the clock about 2:30 and still had not fallen asleep. Who knows why that happens sometimes. My brain wasn't even over active. I just laid in my warm cocoon enjoying the heat. Then I fell into a deep sleep this morning and got up very late. Even the dogs did not fuss. My propane mane filled my tank, yesterday. I am thankful

Queeny, the weather is indeed strange. Our high today is 8, -8 windchill. Sunday it will be 27 and next week it shows 46 one day. I will be glad to get out of this deep freeze.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

Just got back from the senior center a little while ago. I went to my strength class and then stopped in to look at the puzzle after my class.

Wow! Someone worked on it a lot yesterday, and it was almost done! Probably only about 30 pieces to go. So, I stayed and I finished the puzzle!

Oh, and all of us seniors at the center must have been very good this year, because Santa brought us a brand new folding puzzle table.

Table

It is very nice, but there is one disadvantage for some puzzles, especially those that are in portrait format and are pretty big. This bird puzzle, for example, does not fit on the table in portrait format, so had to be in landscape format. So, I had to look sideways to finish up the puzzle, and my neck was getting stiff.

But, the puzzle is done, and it looks very pretty!

Now, after seeing this one finished for a little while, someone will probably pull out another puzzle to start.

Yay, it's Friday!

Just a quick update... it's been a frustrating day.

No energy for getting things done.

I discovered that the file where I documented the typos of the Konrad novel is corrupted and won't open. So two days of work are gone.

Updated my cell phone. I hate the new icons, but at least Google Play Store is back, so I should be able to download the app for my fitbit clone.

Updated my laptop. Haven't tried anything else on it just yet.

Sorted laundry into piles. Emptied my suitcase. Did grocery shopping. Made food.

I suppose being home is nice, but somehow, my home is sapping my energy. *sigh*

*sending hugs to everyone* emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Firle! I am sorry you are lacking energy, today. I actually think it is natural to have a downer once you get home from a high energy vacation. It takes recovery time. How frustrating about that Konrad file! I wonder why those things happen. I am glad you got your cell phone and laptop updated. We are glad to have you home!

Hi Queeny. You have had a couple frustrating nights! I wish I could fix your stomach. Sigh.

Hi everyone!! emoticon

I know I’m not on here much but I still do think of the Sunroom from time to time (and today because Susa followed me on Instagram emoticon ) and enjoy stopping by!

Queeny: Yep, it does look a bit dead around our new house with all the bare trees around, but seeing all the snow-covered branches has a beauty of its own emoticon

Susa: Yeah it’s really cold in Ohio!! It was in the negatives the other day when I woke up to go to school emoticon I really like the cold, but I think the first signs of Spring will be a sight for sore ice emoticon

Yeah I also have nights where I’m just lying there for ages and not able to go to sleep. Luckily, I’ve been doing better with that the past few years emoticon

nanny: Glad you had a nice lunch with your friends!

OhioSue: Looks like a very neat, handy puzzle table emoticon

I love putting in the last few pieces of the puzzle, it’s satisfying and feels like a big accomplishment to do emoticon Glad the strength class went well.

Firle: Sorry it’s not been the best day. Some days just seem to be like that and you can’t do anything about it. But nice job getting some work done regardless! emoticon

And I sure know frustarating days because I have a fever now emoticon emoticon I only get one every year or two, so I’m always very depressed waking up to a sore-throat and stuffy nose! :ImOK: it’s a snow day in Loveland, anyway, so I could just be having a fun day-off. Sad to have a cold and not be able to do much ninja or anything but at least I can try out some new smilies!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon :Yay: emoticon

I’m feeling better already emoticon

Brian, what a nice surprise to "see" you again!

I bet the weather in Ohio is quite an adjustment compared to Florida! (I know Florida is having a cold snap now, too, but I'm sure nowhere near as cold as Ohio!)

I'm glad, though, that you can see the positive side of things and enjoy the beauty of the snow.

I hope you have time to stop in every now and then to say "hi" to us.

Tomorrow morning, my son and his wife are picking me up at 11:30 and taking me out to lunch, so I probably won't do much more than wave at you all. I want to vacuum the family room before they come, because Amy always sits on the floor. I don't know if they will come in when we get back from lunch.

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was a difficult day. I lost myself on FB, mostly, but at least I wrote quite a bit for a new story, a kind of Beauty and the Beast one set on Crete. (Yes. Joanna territory.) I'm plotting a happy ending.

I also went through my first Konrad novel with some serious editing and formatting. Managed about 20%. It is work that requires a lot of focus. As a bonus, I'm relearning how my Rasnai demons express emotions - through colors.

My neighbors just gave me another reason for wanting to move: They installed their piano in the room under my bedroom. I suppose it beats having it under my desk, but they played it during the noon quiet time we have in Germany when I tried to take a nap, and again at MIDNIGHT! (Not much, but just having the idea is unbelievable.) I'm visualizing how they are moving out.

I am also very actively visualizing and putting energy into moving to my old home town this year. I'm no longer happy in this house, where renters constantly change (student cohabitation), and I no longer know who belongs here and who doesn't.

Of course, this means putting in a lot of work with my coaching and my writing, and I already feel tired again. I need to learn to take little steps, give myself time off and manage my energy levels.

I'm reading back, but I got confused a little... I'll be better with answering everyone starting tomorrow, when I post from work again. (Not really looking forward to going back to work. But I want to get everything updated and in shape, considering I plan to leave work this year.)

Oh, yesterday I read an article in our local paper about one of my clients opening her own store. That was the dream we worked on. I'm very, very proud of her, and I think I'll send her email tomorrow, congratulating her. So happy for her! emoticon

Susa: I'm so happy that your son came, brought his family and spent time with you. That's wonderful! emoticon emoticon

Oh, I remember that little white dragon very well! I love Ruth. emoticon

Queeny: So sorry to hear about that elderly couple in your neighborhood. What a devastating thing to happen to the family.

That freezing rain sounds dangerous. Hope you're safe and just fine.

Lucy: Eeeek! A falling bench?! That place is becoming dangerous! Alternatively, they should pay you for being such a good detector of bad furniture!

That's a nice present of your son! emoticon

Smart lady, using that spatula to move blocks of puzzle pieces.

OhioSue: Hurrah for classes. I totally understand that having a schedule feels good, plus you're meeting nice people. So good of you to support the substitute. I'm sure she'll gain more confidence soon.

Nanny: Glad you had a nice lunch with friends, even if it was cut short! emoticon

Brian! It's good to see you here. And I see you have moved to Ohio, back to the snow and the cold. How are you all coping?

Not sure what I'll get into today. I will write and edit, and this afternoon, I'll probably play Titan Quest with my ex-husband. He's new to the game. I suggested using Skype to connect while playing together, so we'll see how that goes.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nanny, Jim has a great idea for moving puzzle pieces. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Susa, I am very happy that you got to see your son and his wife. It would be nice if they lived closer to you. I have only had one cat that didn't hide from visitors, that was Ashes who would stand on visitors' laps and sniff their face.

Queeny, you must have needed that extra rest. I think everyone should sleep in once in a while.

Firle, I hope you do get to move soon. I know that you are often disturbed by the noise around you. Now a piano! That can't work for you. emoticon

Yesterday I spent a lot of time making Annie's food and packing it into the freezer. Then there was a lot of clean-up and then cooking a big pot of beef and vegetable soup for us.

Today I read a lot and went grocery shopping. This evening I wasted a lot of time on Facebook.

Tomorrow is Sunday Brunch at the casino. I always love that.

Good Morning World! It is another frigid day here. However, that is to change! It is to gradually start getting warmer and by midnight it should be 28 degrees and it will continue warmer from there. Thursday it will be in the 50's. On TV last night, they said it could even reach 60 degrees on Thursday. I think I can turn off my faucets, even tonight. I might leave one on a little, but I think I can take my light bulb out from under the sink tomorrow. I just ate my leftovers from Applebee's for breakfast. Yum!

I am still working on pictures. I haven't hung any yet.

Hi Firle! Have you applied for any of those jobs yet? I think that is key for your getting to move back to your home town. Did these neighbors get an acoustic piano or is it electronic? If it is electronic, they could use headphones. They should definitely not be playing the piano in later evening hours or during quiet time. I think you may need to talk to them. Yesterday Jaxom rode on Ruth for the first time.

Hi Lucy! You have been on my mind, lately. I don't know why. I imagine Annie has been enjoying her food. Your vegetable soup sounds good. I hope you have a great time at the casino, today!

GOOD SUNDAY, [sign in to see URL] MY FRIENDS!

We are under a dense fog advisory for [sign in to see URL] is socked in!
Glad we went playing [sign in to see URL] a cabinet that fits over the toilet for our small bathroom. It was beautiful, sunny and fairly warm.
Not much more than cleaning today. And Mom and Dad want us to come over for navy beans, chili relleno's and tortilla's. YUMMMMMM!
I do hope you all have a "yummy" Sunday!

Susa...Oh, I am so happy to read about your awesome day! Really glad they came and you all had a good time, even your "kids" sound like they had fun!
Happy to hear your weather is finally going to warm up! And 50's, even 60 would be so awesome!
What Applebees left overs did you have?
It's best on those pictures if you get them right before you ever try to put them on the wall.

Firle..Sorry you had a bad Saturday. I love the sound of that "Beauty and the Beast" story.

Hi Queeny! Ugh, about that fog. I am very glad you got to play around yesterday. Enjoy your dinner with your parents! For breakfast I had the other half of my club sandwich from Applebee's. I deliberately ordered something that would be good on the second day.

Hi Marjie! I am glad you found the good morning thread. We only change to a new thread for that once a year. That way it cuts down on me forgetting to do it. It sounds as though you have had a nice day. I love the smell of bedding dried on the line outside. What book are you reading? I love to read.

Hi Sue!
