Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

when I got up this a.m. Jim seemed so much brighter, more his old self

went to church, it was a good service, sermon for me also...

when I got home, Jim had gone back down again, I can`t cope said I, after having a good sermon....

he went to bed for the afternoon, he very, very rarely does that, so I talked to myself, ie. gave myself a good talking to.. I really have to get to grips with the fact that I have no control whatsoever with anything outside of myself...

went a quick walk, phew, had to walk quickly it was colder than I thought

so... Firle... would you believe, I was quite comforted to hear that you are still planning on moving back to your old home area.. I pray this for you, but then I do have to say to God, well of course, You know if Firle still wants to do this, but if she does.. please Lord, let it happen, and be a good move for her... (words to that effect)

o.k. I am looking for a digital piano, but funds are limited so after lots of searching and querying, I think this may be the one I will get. maybe order it tomorrow?

I wanted an 88 key piano, but the seller put £20 on the price before I could order it.. so that ruled that one out.. and I have to get a dust cover also.

I have earphones! :piano: that is so bad of your neighbours Firle.

Good to see you here Marjie.. have a scoot around there is a good photo album area where you could post some pictures of what you do... not wanting to give anything away of what you do.

my bedlinen dried beautifully this a.m. and I got it ironed and packed away! whilst Jim slept,, well I had to do something. emoticon

Oh, Nanny, thank you so much for your prayers. Yes, I would love it to be a good move... easy, with joy and love.

Thank you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nanny, Yamaha is a great brand. I think you will be disappointed with 63 keys rather than 88, if you can at all swing the 88 key one. You can throw a rug over it and wait for a store bought cover. However, 63 keys is better than no keys. I learned to play on a toy piano when I was a child.

I am glad that Jim had a moment of being brighter and sorry that he went the other way. Yes! You can only control yourself, but you can alienate others by trying to control them.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

I have had a horrible week last week and will be going back in to work Tues. I will work thru Sat. have one day off and then it is the whole week again. One of my co-workers was 4 months pregnant and lost her baby. emoticon emoticon She had a miscarriage before this one also- in Sept. So 2 pregnancies in just a short time. It is very sad. She was not at work much of the time last week. She was hospitalized where her water broke and the baby was tiny. She delivered and held him, named him and got a memory of his little footprints. He was perfectly formed, healthy but the womb got an infection of some sort. I do not know much of the details. She stayed in the hospital for a time and will no doubt be off some more time this coming week. My manager collected funds so that we could bring her and her family meals and a gift card to a garden shop so if she likes she can put a garden in her yard with flowers as a memory of her wee one.
I had one of her rooms to do plus it was a heavy week in my room. I had over 700 cages to do in 3 days. Plus many other duties. Needless to say I was exhausted and stayed in bed all day Saturday. They have not hired for the girl that left the end of November so we still are doing her work, one of the cage wash person's was on vacation. emoticon
Today I helped my sister put her walker together and then we had lunch at Red Lobster. We were going to see mom but my brother had her for the day. Since it was nice weather I took Ollie for a walk at the local neighborhood park. I needed that! My hubby has spent the whole weekend on the ice fishing emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
It is not really that cold here tho. It was close to 50 degrees. The ice is 11 inches thick. I wouldn't trust it, but he got home and then they called him into work. So he is now on a job until midnight.
It just seems that I am being held down and have a huge rock on top of me. I am just overwhelmed with different things going on around me. This week I will need to go with Luke to get him food for college and whatever else he needs. He will probably leave Friday to go back. Too short of a time with him! So hard when I work! I never see Kate. She worked all weekend. She went to go see her horse and rode after work, came home and put meals together for her work week. She has all of these tupperware containers stacked in the fridge/freezer. I wish I had her energy! emoticon
I have a cat sitting on the computer right by me. Ginger- my 15 year old. Does anyone else have cats up on the computer whilist they work? She is purring! Awww emoticon
Firle: I am glad that you arrived home safe! I hope that your vacation was a good one for you! I loved seeing your nephew having fun posting the emoticons! emoticon
Nanny: My emoticon heart hurts for what you are going through with your hubby. I will say prayers for you and him. Sending hugs! emoticon
Susa, Queeny, Ohio Sue, Lucy, Autumn emoticon I need to read more of the threads [sign in to see URL] all is well with everyone!

Nanny, emoticon emoticon emoticon I know it is difficult but do hope you will remember to do good things for yourself. I will pray for Jim.

Firle, I hope everything works out for you. You have so many irons in the fire, I am always amazed that you are able to keep up with all that. I know you will move to your old home town if you put your mind to it. emoticon

Mary, I feel so sorry for your coworker losing her baby. What an awful thing to happen to a family.

You sure did have a horrible week at work. I am wondering why they didn't replace the person who left in November. I hope your energy holds out. emoticon

Queeny, yay for Mom's good cooking.

Yes, Annie loves her new food. I weighted her at the vet's Dec. 19 and will again soon to make sure she is getting enough food.

Susa, you were smart to order a club sandwich and bring some home to eat another day.

Yay, it's warming up at your house. I'm really glad to hear that.

Hi Marjie and Autumn, It's nice to have you both here.

Sue, it's neat that you have something in common with Marjie. It's a small world, after all. emoticon

Is it getting warmer in your part of the state, too?

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Our brunch today was exceptional and we had a beautiful sunny day. Nothing went wrong, the seating was perfect. emoticon

I got online this afternoon and ordered refills on the supplements I give Blacky and Annie.

my MissT is about 5 months old, or just coming up to that. she was a rescue cat in the true sense of the word, in that the Rescue Charity found her with some siblings in a field, suspecting the mum had been killed by a tractor... so no idea of her real age.

so she sits on the computer with me,,in fact I have to tell her to get off, cos she just wants to catch the moving smilies and anything on the screen that moves! perhaps as she gets older she will just sit and purr? emoticon

Jim had a bad night , was up most of the time due to stomach pain, but he is so lacking in common sense, I wanted to put the heating on, but he said no. he was ok. and he goes in and out to his shed to have a quick smoke, he doesn`t smoke a whole cig in one go, just puffs and in and out.. I really have to let go.

so he is still in bed now.. 9. 30 ish..
nothing planned for today..

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

Happy Monday!

Today is a gorgeous day, with frost and sun. I love this kind of weather, it's invigorating to me. The walk to work went very well.

This morning, I finally managed to connect my fitness armband to my cell phone. I installed the app and followed instructions. Because I'm overweight, my daily number of steps is 7,500. (I think that's not a challenge, but we'll see.) Walking to work almost covered half of that goal, so my walk home will get me close.

I already know that one round around the park equals about 3,500 steps, so three rounds should get me close to the more common 10,000 steps per day. I may add a round to my walk home to get to 10k steps eventually.

I did play Titan Quest with my ex, and it was good fun. He was a little shocked when I showed him the skill tree. He had played his first character without using it - and got amazingly far. emoticon

We'll play again. I like that.

My little Beauty and the Beast story is growing. I'm thinking about setting a goal of 1,000 words per day. That would get me quite a few stories. And I want to play with GIMP for one hour per day to get better with it.

I'm just not good at scheduling myself. Maybe that is my challenge for this year, to finally learn some time management skills.

Lucy: I didn't hear the piano yesterday. That was good. I hope I won't hear it often.

I hope you're enjoying your book and had a great birthday dinner.

Thank you for your support and confidence. I think I'll manage the move this year. emoticon

Susa: It's an old, acoustic, out-of-tune piano. And yes, I will talk to the landlord if they keep playing it outside of legal hours. We have quite a few rules about noise in Germany...

Yay for Jaxom! emoticon emoticon
(I know that scene. I must have read those books a dozen times. I wish Jaxom could be my friend.)

Queeny: Sorry for the inversion! Hope it clears soon. Your Sunday sounds good!

I do hope my client spreads the word. And I believe I do good work, yes. I'll raise my prices this month. emoticon In fact, that's the topic of our coaching group this month - how to set your prices.

Marjie: Glad you found this thread! I'm usually the first to post during a day because I'm in Germany - earliest time zone for this board.

Your Sunday sounds good! I'm glad your bedding dried quickly. Frost and a bit of wind will do that. What are you knitting?

Nanny: Glad you're getting a keyboard. They are so much better in a neighborhood, especially if you use headphones.

emoticon Yes, you only have control over yourself. I hope Jim will be more like himself now, but what will be will be. emoticon

Mary: Oh, I'm sorry for your bad week at work, and so very sorry for your co-worker. Your support for her is beautiful. But they really should hire more workers. 700 cages is HUGE.

*hugs and hugs* Could that weight on you be depression? I know how it feels to get things done and work when depressed. It seems similar to what you are feeling. Have you considered using a strong daylight lamp? It's my savior during winter.

Autumn: It's good to see you again! Glad you're feeling better after getting rid of the holiday bug.

Yay for figuring out CSS stuff. I saw it on Support. emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I already did some statistics work this morning, and a task for my boss. Now I need to get back to more lists. And for some reason, I'm rather happy with all of it.

This afternoon, I want to write and play with GIMP to create little ads for my online workshop.

Have a wonderful day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm sorry you have such a hard time with Jim... but you are right. Love him and let him be. He is doing the best HE can, even if you don't agree with him.

Re:

Good Morning World! Early this morning we had a snow storm and a bit of ice first. My snow shovel guy came early and my driveway is clear. The high today is 34 and it is to get warmer as the week goes on. Yay! Today, Garett and Kate are to come. I think the roads should be fine, but am not sure. They are saying freezing rain until 1pm on the radio, but online it says it has stopped. I think things should be good. Sheree will know whether to come or not. She is very careful about those things.

Hi Mary! I am sorry you had such a rough week at work. My heart breaks for the lady who lost the baby. Such a sad, sad time in her life. I hope that work gets on the ball and hires someone! My son-in-law and Garett spent the weekend ice fishing! Brrrrrr It was 0 here. Hobbes often wants up while I am on the computer. I have a sack I put around my waist and put him in that. That way I have hands to type and he is not on the keyboard. I am sorry that Luke will be leaving you, but he will never really leave you and the same with Kate. They are just busy, growing people. They love you. I hope that your load can lighten up a bit.

Hi Autumn! Happy New Year!!!! I am glad you found your way to the 2018 thread. I am also glad that you got rid of that bug. I am glad I could help you with your board.

Hi Lucy!!! I am glad that you had an exceptional brunch! And the table didn't fall down or anything!!! I just started giving Piper and Lily a multiple vitamin. They love it! I hope it does them good. I don't think I could get cats to eat one. Hhhhhmmm

Hi Nanny! Nanny, you need to set a birthday for Miss T. You know how old she was when you got her. They told you. They can tell almost exactly at that age. Just set a birthday. You may be off by a couple days, but that won't matter when she is 10. That is what I did with Hobbes and Joseph. Set a date and celebrate it. It will be very close. I am sorry that Jim had a bad night. Yes, you can't control him. Did you order your keyboard?

Hi Firle! I am glad you have an invigorating day! It sounds gorgeous. I think it would be fun to have a fitness armband. It would be very encouraging knowing how many steps. I am happy that you enjoyed playing Titan Quest with your ex. That gives you something new to have fun with. Your book writing sounds like it is going well! Good!

Good Morning!

We had snow overnight, too, but it has warmed up quite a bit. It was the first day in a very long time where the temperatures were a lot higher than 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It is about 35 degrees F now, and it is supposed to get up to about 55 degrees F by Thursday! emoticon

I did go to my strength class today. My hubby kindly cleared the snow off my car this morning before he went to work. I did, though, have to spend a lot of time getting the thick ice off all of the windows. Fortunately, we only live a few blocks from the main street of our town, which is always cleared off very well, so I had no trouble getting to class. There were only 3 people in our class [sign in to see URL] of us live quite close to the senior center.

Today I'm doing laundry, and not sure what else I'll get into.

Hope you all have a great day.

I've only been to my new school twice.

Went to bed last night expecting to have to wake up at 6am for school. I laid there for hours unable to go to sleep and it was around 2am when I did. Then I woke up at 3 with a bloody nose and couldn't get back to sleep for half-an-hour.

You can imagine how relieved and excited I was when school was cancelled emoticon

We just got back from Kroger and having frozen pizza for lunch. I'm going to catch up on some of the school's Summer reading (I know it's a bit late for that but I'm new emoticon ) and then do some pull-ups and push-ups.

Have a great day everyone! emoticon

GOOD MONDAY, Jan. 8th MY FRIENDS!
I hope this finds you all starting off this week, well rested and in a good mood!
We had a good [sign in to see URL] a new cabinet installed in the bathroom and new storage arranged in the office closet. And had dinner with Mom and Dad on Sunday. All in all a quieter than normal weekend, but a productive one.
I want to paint the bathroom off the master bedroom a light blue and a brilliant white. So the cabinet we added is white with the louvered doors. I may replace the sink vanity cabinet with the same [sign in to see URL] know we have to replace the sink, it has a nasty crack in the porcelain. But that will come Spring, when I can open the window to paint. For now, I dream...
It's to be 40 here [sign in to see URL] all week as well. Up to 45 on Friday! With rain..several times this week, even looking out at the extended weather I don't see us dropping below freezing for highs well into February.
Not much happening [sign in to see URL]'s Monday, so it must be "wash day". Mom's left over beans for dinner, so no cooking...
*******************************
ONE of my most favorite Tolkien Quotes:
*******************************
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”
~ [sign in to see URL]. Tolkien

Marjie...so it is so wonderful to have you here!
I would love to have a clothesline. I think sheets smell so good dried outside.
Hope you got in a good read yesterday.
Those are two very good hobbies, and two that I really stink at! I need to read more, but have no time really. And I could not knit to save my life! LOL
You stay warm..

Susa....HI LADY!
quote:

For breakfast I had the other half of my club sandwich from Applebee's. I deliberately ordered something that would be good on the second day.

Oh that thing is sooooo good! Pretty smart of you ordering that way!
Glad your shovel guy came early and got you all cleared out. Now with those temperatures everything can melt. Love that you will be getting warmer! We are too! It's to be 40 here [sign in to see URL] all week as well. Up to 45 on Friday! With rain..several times this week, even looking out at the extended weather I don't see us dropping below freezing for highs well into February.
I do hope you get to see the kids today. But not if it's icy!
I can not stop laughing at your AVATAR!!! emoticon

Nanny...I am so very sorry that Jim is having such a hard time being himself. Is it only because his body is [sign in to see URL] is he a bit depressed too?
I often have to give myself a good talking to. If I don't and I get to feeling sorry for [sign in to see URL] spirit guide will give me a talking to and she can be [sign in to see URL]! Sometimes it is hard to take. But I know it's for my own good. AND [sign in to see URL] do have to learn to let go. But that is the hardest human thing to [sign in to see URL] are so emotionally tied to the things we love in this life. I have learned [sign in to see URL] to be honest, I can let go of the "humans" in my life easier than the animals. AND I think it's cause I know in my heart where the humans go. I am not so sure about the animals.
I LOVE that digital piano! I think you would find so much pleasure in playing!
I love that Miss T sits on the computer with you. She really loves her Mama.

Mary...I am so sorry you had such a hard [sign in to see URL] have to look forward to another! [sign in to see URL] still......
quote:

One of my co-workers was 4 months pregnant and lost her baby. emoticon emoticon She had a miscarriage before this one also- in Sept. So 2 pregnancies in just a short time. It is very sad.

It could be so much worse for you. emoticon
They DO however need to hurry up and fill that position for the woman who left in Nov. What the heck are they thinking?
ICE FISHING?? I tried that a few times in Wisconsin. I really never liked [sign in to see URL] blasted cold! Guess I am a fair weather fisherman! LMAO
I think you are taking everything to seriously. If there are things that can be let [sign in to see URL] let them go. Does Luke have a car? If so, why can't he get his own groceries? He is a smart man....
And when you were Kate's age, you probably had exactly that kind of energy! emoticon
My husband has our Feral Miss Kitty who sits on his [sign in to see URL] RUNS to sit on his comptuer if he leaves even for 5 minutes! She changed his monitor and had his work going sideways for a while last week.
Misty comes up on my laptop every [sign in to see URL] in the morning when I have my coffee and we HAVE to watch a squirrel/bird [sign in to see URL]'s done that every day pretty much since she came to us.

Autumn...Hi! Nice you found your way back here. Oh so many people this year have had the [sign in to see URL]'s a very bad year for that!
I love your kitty avatar...

Lucy....So happy to hear there was not a fiasco with seating during your brunch. And that you had a beautiful sunny day.
quote:

Yes, Annie loves her new food. I weighted her at the vet's Dec. 19 and will again soon to make sure she is getting enough food.

Nothing beats home cooking!
What supplements do you give Blacky and Annie? I can't remember is you told us.
I just have to give all my cats Llysine. And I may start giving Patches Licks Zen.
Zen anti-aggression aid...

Because he is such a bully towards Miss Kitty and Gaia! Hubby threatened to give him to another family. I said..."Not going to happen"...so I have to try something. The PetSmart lady said they work for her cat. But her Mom's cat needed the cat version of Prozac. I think the Prozac would be cheaper! LMAO Or [sign in to see URL] Gabepentin is $30 a [sign in to see URL] Prednisone (cat safe version can't think of it now)...is $14 a month.

Firle..Oh I love those brilliant icy days! It's like have diamonds on everything. My graphic today is from one of THOSE days. emoticon
Happy to hear you got that fitness armband up and working. I love your goal of 10,000 and I really love that you want to include a walk round the park for the extra steps. You will be helped in more ways than just physical health.
Glad your Beauty and the Beast story is growing and you want to work on GIMP! Better you than me! That GIMP kicked my arse... emoticon

Sue...Happy to hear you are warming up too! Would you believe our SKI RESORT outside of [sign in to see URL] CLOSED for the week. They are not even cold enough to MAKE snow! They are weighing whether to open or not. It's [sign in to see URL] should be wall to wall skiers. That is going to hurt their wallet!
Glad you got the ice scraped and got to your strength class.

HI YA Brian!...You have only been to your new school twice?? Goodness!
Hey, to help those bloody noses run a warm mist humidifier in your room every night. It moisturizes the membranes in your nose and rarely will they bleed. Hubby used to get bloody noses almost daily in the Winter!
I bet you were [sign in to see URL] not getting any sleep! LOL
Happy to see you are feeling so much better and can start your workouts again! emoticon

Hi Brian! This ice must be all over Ohio. I hope you get some reading done. I think this weather causes bloody noses. Hopefully, with the temperatures rising there will be a bit more humidity in the air.

Hi Majie! I have seen some of your knitting. You are very, very good at it. I am glad you live where there is not a lot of snow.

Hi Queeny! I am glad you had a productive weekend. Your goals for spring sound like we will get to see photographs! That is too bad that the sink has a nasty crack in it. Our long range temperatures do not look as warm as yours. However, it does look as though I will have clear roads for my doctor's appointment on the 15th. However, it will be cold. Ha, ha! That avatar looks just like Joseph! I couldn't believe my eyes when I found it.

Garett and Kate are not coming. The roads are too icy. In fact, my daughter, and RN, was told not to go into work because of the roads. She does not work directly with patients. She works with the doctors and she can do that remotely from home. My newspaper finally came. I am not going to bother going after the mail. It always comes late on Mondays anyway.

I hunted several hours for interesting things to post here, today, and found nothing good so I am abandoning that until tomorrow. I changed the sheets on my bed and was going to wash the dirty ones when I saw that the water in the toilet was coming in orange. I abandoned that thought. I will not be washing the baby dress today, either, because of the water. I think I am going to go read. I need lights on in the house because it is so dingy outside.

Good afternoon! emoticon
I am ready for a nap. I spent the morning in the kitchen making meals for the week. Beings it will be a long couple of weeks!! I do love cooking so it was my relaxing time. I made a pot of chicken and rice soup, pasta/meatball casserole, and got rid of the black bananas and made muffins! My hubby texted me and asked what was for lunch. He commented saying that I must have cleaned the fridge! emoticon emoticon
I need to do a little bit more of cleaning and then I am going to call it a day. I am watching a new show on netflix called, "An Idiot Abroad". My sister recommended it. There are some gross things in the show but it is still interesting with him seeing many "wonders of the world". It is a British show-I so love the accent of this man-Karl Pilkington. Has anyone seen it? I do get to laughing at some of his comments. I need laughter... emoticon
Nanny, I am glad that you have Miss T! My Ginger just curls up next to my body as I sit and purrs away. [sign in to see URL] youngins! Interested in everything that moves on the screen!LOL
We are very gloomy today outside. The temps are in the 40's. I thought that it was suppose to get to 60? They say it is snowing in the mountains.
Hi Brian! I bet you will have to make up those snow days later in the year..? I remember when my kids last day was May 28th or such and had to go a few days into June because of the snow days. Glad you got a day off! Hoping that you get some rest!
Hi Marji! I am [sign in to see URL] am not here too often because I work a full time job. I live in Colorado and have 3 grown kids. My baby is in college right now. 2 others have their jobs and I hardly see them. I always wanted to learn to knit. I actually started a class but never followed up after the class. I do know the [sign in to see URL] that counts. ? Maybe when I retire... emoticon
The manager that does the hiring left in Dec. for vacation (Germany) and did not get back to work until last week. She is starting the hiring process but it does take a long time with HR to get it all together! Hoping things go smooth and we get someone good to help out! I need a "normal" work week soon!!! Ha emoticon
Ok all I am going to finish up with the chores and then it is R&R until tmrw when I need to get back to work!
Take care all! Hugs! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wow, Mary, you cooked up a storm in your kitchen today! That should really help you out this week when you have a rough work schedule.

I certainly understand how tired you can be after working a full day at work, and then coming up to work some more, too.

Hope you are taking some R&R for you the rest of the day.

Spent the afternoon...working on cleaning out the photos I have just lazing about on my computer. I usually upload, then sort them into folders within a day or two of taking [sign in to see URL] for some reason I am always behind this year! [sign in to see URL] all may see some Summer and Fall and a few left over Winter ones when I get the added to my album! emoticon

Susa...It DOES look like Joseph, though I doubt he would let you dress him up like that!
I am glad that your roads on the Doc visit day will be [sign in to see URL] very glad to hear that your daughter was told not to go to work and that your kids and she won't be trying to come for lessons!
Good idea not trying to walk to the mailbox. That can always wait!
Good things you noticed that orange water! Oh that would have been horrible for the dress!
We have lights on [sign in to see URL] be warm but the inversion has us all socked in and grey!

Mary...very, very smart of you to make meals ahead. I did that when I worked at the school kitchen cause the last thing I wanted to do was come home and cook!
Love what your husband said....
Never heard of that show. Sounds [sign in to see URL]!
We are gloomy today [sign in to see URL] is very unimpressive! LOL

Mary, that is a very good idea to cook ahead. Do you often freeze things you cook ahead? I have never heard of "An Idiot Abroad". I have trouble fitting in all the shows I want to watch., so I probably won't hunt for it. I hope that things go OK at work this week, though I know you will be exhausted.

Queeny, how are you Photobucket pictures coming along. I hate to see you have to rush right before you lose you pictures in February.

Hi Mary! What they told me on my orientation day was that if five or more days are missed due to snow days, they will tack-on makeup days to the end. School is planned to end on May 31st, but can be extended through the 8th June if needed.

My hope is that we get four snow days and don't have to make any up emoticon

Yep, I got about 40 pages done (the preface to Animal Farm is looooong!) of my reading and annotating. I have a week left to finish my books!

Brian, it's so nice to see you posting here. You have been missed.

Nanny, I know it is very frustrating but Jim probably isn't going to change much. I will continue to pray for his physical and spiritual health.

I am so happy that you have Miss T. She is wonderful company for you.

Firle, those fitness bands are nice. I have looked at them but haven't decided yet to get one.

Mary, that is smart to do all that cooking ahead. I know work is tough. Hopefully, someone will get hired soon.

Susa, yay for the snow shovel guy. I really hope you do not go out at all while there is ice on the driveway or road. Does Garett get to ice fish often?

Queeny, I'm sure your bathroom will look terrific once you get it painted and a new sink installed. Your Misty sure is a sweetheart.

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am giving both Annie and Blacky powdered multi vitamins and probiotics mixed into wet food. They also get a squirt of liquid astaxanthin and krill oil on their food. They are very happy to eat all that daily.

Re: So tell me about your day ...2018

Happy Tuesday!

I walked over 8,000 steps yesterday, with my grocery run. So that was rather easy. I'll do another round today, going to another store - and taking a longer route around the park to get more steps.

This silly thing actually works. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I also put 1,400 words into my B&B story, they flowed easily. That was fun. (I also think it turned out well.) It's a lighthearted paranormal Romance.

I got to talk to my new colleague today, since I was supposed to teach her a few things. She's very young... but nice and happy to learn. I like her a lot.

It's another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and less cold than yesterday. I'm going to enjoy it - we'll be back to dark and gray tomorrow.

Susa: Woah, a snow storm isn't fun. Glad your snow guy is on the mark.

Also thank you so much for sharing your other board with me. I'm going to look at some tutorials this afternoon. I'm stressing about making covers - it's getting urgent.

Woah, that's a lot of school closings. Will the kids lose vacation days because of this? (I see Brian talked about this, too.)

The ice warnings sound serious. It's a good thing Kate and Garett didn't come. And yeah, don't bother with the mail. I hope you found some reading time.

OhioSue: Brrrr, it's cold. You have a kind husband, but the ice on the windows doesn't sound like fun. Glad you went anyway! Your senior center is truly great.

Brian: I'm sorry you had such a rotten night. Of course, that made the snow day even nicer. emoticon

Marjie: Hi hi! What kind of books do you read? I write books, so I'm always curious. And I know a lot of writers, too, so maybe I can suggest new books to you.

Queeny: I love your bathroom plans. The colors sound so fresh and new. Yay for getting the cabinet up.

I took a pic in the park on my way home and posted it on FB. Should try to share it here... it was beautiful there yesterday.

It took me quite a while to even want to work with GIMP. Now I'm better, and I create most of my FB graphics in it. But that's not enough for covers... I talked to a cover guy on FB (he offers packages for $200, and I'm so tempted), and he said he'll help me if I have questions. emoticon

Mary: Preparing meals is a very smart thing to do! *hugs* I hope work will get better for you soon.

Lucy: Oh, I bet they love those additions to their food. How smart to make it all tasty!

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Back to work. Room statistics. The hardest part is proofing this stuff... finding errors in excel formulae is difficult. I will get it done.

I'm meeting my Dutch buddy this afternoon, probably for a chat and possibly some mutual emotional support.

I need that support to get moving with my online workshop. Right now, it feels very overwhelming.

Have a wonderful day, everyone! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re:

Good Morning World! Today is cloudy and about 34 degrees. I do have lots of ice in the driveway. I have one student this afternoon. I also need to do the litter, mop the laundry room and wash rugs. I hope to read.

Brian, 40 pages is good! I hope you don't have too many books left to read. I have never read Animal Farm.

Hi Lucy! I think Garett has only gotten to ice fish, once, but I am not sure about that. Your vitamin regimen sounds good for Annie and Blacky. My girls get a multi vitamin and probiotics.

Firle, you got a lot of steps in! That is very good. You B&B story sounds as though it is chugging right along. I am glad. I hope your young colleague does well. I hope that you can figure out Gimp and that Spractice can be of some help. We sort of jumped around there, but you can tell by the thread titles what we were doing. Garett and Kate already have had 5 snow days. They will surely have more before the school year is out and yes, they will be making up days. I don't know how many they get free. I did get some reading in yesterday. I am going to be sorry when this book is done. Do the same characters go through the other books in the series?

GOOD TUESDAY, Jan. 9th MY FRIENDS!

Well it rained all [sign in to see URL]! This is January! Oh [sign in to see URL] am NOT complaining! I am almost giddy with JOY. LMAO It is 35 degrees out and still lightly raining and it is to continue to rain on and off most of the [sign in to see URL] guess I should be very glad we are above freezing or that would be a LOT of snow. We are to be in the high 30's, low to mid 40's through till almost the end of January. I am loving that....
[sign in to see URL] celebrating. I really have no idea what today will bring! [sign in to see URL] is coming to mind. I am making oven-baked ribs, mashed potatoes and broccoli for dinner. And I need to get my hair washed. But that is pretty much it. I guess I will work on changing out more PB photos for Fotki photos before they all disappear.
May you all have a wonderful quiet day....
*************************************
Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead.
~ Louisa May Alcott

Brian..In the OLD [sign in to see URL] always started school on [sign in to see URL], or right after Labor Day and we never ended until June [sign in to see URL] of course we got snow days. One time our Winter was sooo [sign in to see URL] we had to go to school until the 4th of JULY weekend!

Lucy...I had to look up astaxanthin. So that would be like all the advantages of fish and fish oil with out the stinky side affects?
So fascinating. I have done many natural things for [sign in to see URL] People, but never really thought about my animals except in the probiotics, I think those really help.

Firle...OH MY GOODNESS! That is great that you did 8,000 steps the very first day. So happy that it works. I've never known anyone with one, so could never ask if they worked or not.
Nice that you were able to write so well. Let me ask you [sign in to see URL] you do the writing after all the walking or the other way round?
Glad you like your new colleague.

Queeny: I love your bathroom plans. The colors sound so fresh and new.

Thank you hon. Every piece of wood in this house is either oak or oak stained. I know oak is timeless, but it is also OLD looking. I won't change much in this house as the oak and off white walls will all be a good selling point and we do plan to sell when the time comes. BUT, I need me some [sign in to see URL] my wee retreat is the bathroom and bubble baths, so that is going to be painted pale blue walls and bright white [sign in to see URL] only the hint of oak in the trim.
I hope you share your photo of the park yesterday here!
I am glad you have someone you can go to with a question about GIMP. AND better you than me! emoticon I'll never do anything that needs graphics as perfect as you need them.
Have a wonderful time with your Dutch buddy.

Susa....Oh [sign in to see URL] was right on the edge! I hope it warms up enough to melt the ice. I swear I would take a foot of snow over ice any day!
You have a lot to do today.... emoticon

Marjie...good day to [sign in to see URL] the sun is not out for you today. I think we all must be having the mid Winter doldrums.
quote:

I used to be able to do all that and more but i think age has caught up with me

Join the rest of us then my dear! emoticon
I worked as a motel [sign in to see URL] cleaned motel/hotel rooms for 8 hours a day and then went out and [sign in to see URL] I can barely do my own house without hubby helping. He does the vacuuming, whilst I do the rest.
You have a good day now, okay? :Yay:

Hi Queeny! Now, you and I are getting the same weather, or rather we will get your weather starting tomorrow when the rain starts. I agree! It sure beats snow! I need to go look out the window to see how the ice in my driveway is doing. I do not want to put down salt if I can get by with not doing it. I will be glad for you when your pictures are done. I found a nest of my own Photobucket pictures on Spractice last night. I had never changed out the smileys there, so I am working on those.
